Lochaber Housing Association (LHA) is a Scottish Charity (SCO 30951), registered as a Society under the Cooperative and Community Benefits Act 2014 and with the Scottish Housing Regulator (HAL151). Responsibility for running the Association lies with its locally drawn Board of Management.

LHA was established in 1988 by concerned local residents to address the chronic housing needs of Lochaber’s landward communities and to help alleviate the longstanding needs of Fort William, the second largest conurbation in the Highlands. The resulting community development pressures were, and still are, exacerbated by housing market prices far beyond the reach of most local people and by the scarcity of other, affordable options.

Since then, we have built nearly 800 houses, have a busy and active development programme and two successful subsidiaries – Lochaber Care & Repair and LHA Property Services – employing over 50 staff in all. We are now a vital and well-respected ‘community hub’ organisation with a wide range of good partners.

Our mission is to provide good quality, truly affordable housing opportunities and services for local people in their preferred communities, thereby identifying and meeting local needs and helping to maintain and develop thriving communities throughout Lochaber.

Due to the retirement of our longstanding CEO, we can now offer candidates this rare opportunity to lead and further develop the successful delivery of our mission. You will need to demonstrate a solid track record of success in your career to date, including evidence of your proven managerial and leadership qualities.
