We are looking for a Senior Financial Analysis Manager to join us - the role can be based in our Manchester, Birmingham or Leeds office.

We work collaboratively in a flexible working environment to promote a viable, efficient and well-governed social housing sector.  The social housing market has become increasingly complex and the nature and extent of the risks which Registered Providers (providers) must manage are correspondingly more challenging.

This role sits within the Regulatory Operations team which is made up of finance and governance specialists. Through our regulatory approach we engage with providers to ensure that we have an understanding of the short and medium term viability issues, and when we engage in depth with providers, we are able to reach conclusions on the quality of governance, risk profile, approach to value for money and financial strength.

Job Description:

Senior Financial Analysis Managers (SFAMs) are responsible for obtaining assurance that, as required by the Regulator’s economic standards, individual Registered Providers are maintaining their financial viability This is achieved through a planned programme of financial analysis work with SFAMs responsible for leading teams of financial analysis staff for a defined portfolio of providers. Senior Financial Analysis Managers also lead the multi-disciplinary teams undertaking in-depth assessments of providers, working closely with governance colleagues to gain a rounded view of a provider’s compliance with our standards in order to reach a recommendation of the providers compliance with the standards.

Responsibilities:

The successful candidate will have a financial background and a relevant professional qualification. A good understanding of governance and risk management is desirable. The role offers excellent terms and conditions including 33 days annual leave and access to a defined benefit pension scheme. The successful candidate will be based in the Regulator’s office in Manchester, Leeds or Birmingham. Our staff are currently working from home due to COVID restrictions.

RSH’s core offices are in Manchester, Leeds, Birmingham, Bristol and London. Our posts can be successfully carried out from any RSH office unless otherwise specified in the job information. We offer flexible working arrangements and staff can work from home for part of their hours.

Most roles involve some travel within England between our offices, and some roles also involve onsite visits to social housing providers.

In line with Government requirements to reduce the number of Civil Service and NDPB roles based in London, we only advertise roles in London which need to be there for business-critical reasons.

Interview date is 14 July 2021  and may be held via Microsoft Teams due to the current closure of RSH offices and staff working from home.

The salary for this role is a spot salary within the given range, which will normally be the minimum of the range.  Annual salary reviews are determined by the government pay award. In addition, when the probation period is successfully completed, a performance related bonus may be awarded, based on appraisal ratings at the end of the qualifying appraisal year.
