Plus, brilliant benefits!

Enabling our customers to live safely. That’s when it hits home!

We have a fabulous opportunity for you to join our awesome team. We support our brilliant customers who have varying mental health support needs.  Some of our customers can have extremely complex needs, which may not have been diagnosed yet. Colleagues identify and manage risk to ensure customers get the right support they need to move on successfully living independently in the community.

Our customers live in a supported living accommodation which consists of 19 self-contained flats in Handsworth, Birmingham. We support our customers with housing, benefits/finance, meaningful use of time, health and wellbeing and any other support needs identified by the customer.

As our Housing Concierge you’ll play a really important role in supporting the smooth running of our service.  You’ll make sure that our buildings and customers are safe and secure, and that we get on with our neighbours! You’ll get involved in lots of different activities which will include monitoring CCTV, regularly patrolling the premises, monitoring visitors to and from the building and ensuring tenancy conditions and service rules are adhered to.  You’ll also be our first point of contact for customers during the night and at times we’ll also need you to do some general cleaning duties too.

About our team
Although you’ll work nights, we do get together regularly in the daytime for training and team meetings. You’ll be part of our wider team who are super passionate about supporting customers to reach their goals and celebrating their achievements. To us were not just a team we’re a ‘work family’. Our Senior Client Service Manager is Joel, who has been with Home Group for 2 years.  Joel is caring and compassionate and has a wealth of health and social care experience. There are 12 of us in the team and we don’t just love to support our customers, we’re there for each other too!

Working hours
We provide 24-hour support to our customers each day and every day. In this role you’ll work during the twilight hours doing waking nights work. You’ll work on a rolling rota and take your turn working weekends and bank holidays. Our shift hours are Monday – Thursday 20:00pm – 08:00am, Friday 20:00pm – 09:00am, Saturday 17:00pm – 09:00am and Sunday 17:00pm – 08:00am. We need you to be flexible to meet the needs of our customers, but we aim to give you the time you need to spend time doing the things that matter to you!

About you
You’re passionate and motivated to help vulnerable people make positive and lasting changes to their lives. You’ll impress us with your ability to work on your own initiative.

If you’re not the biggest fan of technology, that’s not a problem to us. You do need to know that we are quite a high-tech company and most of our application process and mandatory learning are online. However, we’re glad to support you, if you need help.

It would be amazing if you have worked in this type of environment before, however it’s your “can do” positive attitude and enthusiasm that are critical to make this role a success. We can nurture your talent, just let us know in your cover letter why you have a passion for working here!

When you join, you’ll need to have a valid Enhanced Check under the Disclosure and Barring Service. The great news is that we will pay for that to be done if you don’t have a transferrable one.
