Job Details

This role is in Northampton Partnership Homes busy Property Maintenance department.  We manage 12,000 council homes within Northampton and carry out over 40,000 day to day repairs each year.  We also refurbish approximately 850 empty homes in readiness for new tenants.

We are looking for a Multi Skilled Plumber to carry out plumbing works and maintenance to the council stock to both tenanted and empty properties, working to a high standard and providing a customer focused service to all our tenants.

You will undertake core plumbing works varying from renewing of bathrooms/kitchens, installing radiators to minor repairs such as tap overhauls, finding and fixing of leaks, toilet overhauls etc.

You must also be capable of undertaking other building tasks which fall within the broad scope of the role such as gutter works, minor repairs of wall and floor tiling, patch plastering, minor carpentry repairs such as kitchen unit overhauls, fitting of bath panels, skirting boards etc.

You will work in tenant’s homes in a polite, courteous and effective manner leading to high level of tenant satisfaction. You must be calm, tactful and diplomatic as you may deal with challenging issues.

You will join a rota to cover emergency call outs which will be an additional payment to salary.

You will require a full clean UK driving licence.

Northampton Partnership Homes is an arms-length management organisation (ALMO) that is responsible for the management of Council housing services.

From 5th January 2015, Northampton Partnership Homes (NPH) has been managing the provision of all the housing services of Northampton Borough Council (NBC) related to its own stock.

NPH is an Arm’s Length Management Organisation that is wholly owned by the Council but has its own Board of Directors. It is a Company Limited by Guarantee (CLG) and is a not for profit organisation. This means that income will be put back into providing housing and housing related services.

NPH has been set up by NBC for an initial period of 15 years and is responsible for the following services:

  • Allocations and Lettings
  • Repairs and Maintenance
  • Housing Management, including dealing with anti-social behaviour
  • Tenancy Support
  • Tenant Involvement
  • Ecton Lane Park traveller site
