The council has an excellent track record in delivering high-quality, award-winning, affordable homes and has ambitions to deliver a pipeline of more than 500 homes as part of our Accelerated Affordable Housing Programme.
We are looking for an experienced housing development manager or an individual with understanding of the social housing sector, who is passionate about delivering social housing, to join our committed and innovative team.
This is an exciting time for the council. As well as our own direct delivery, we have established a Local Housing Company (Now Housing Limited) to deliver 372 new homes as part of our wider programme.
If you have detailed knowledge and experience of the development process, excellent proven project management, communication and negotiating skills, and would like to work in a friendly and supportive team environment, we would like to hear from you.
Educated to degree level or with equivalent experience, you will have up-to-date knowledge of the development process, current housing issues, and good practice.
Managing a number of varied projects, you can demonstrate a successful record of delivery, detailed understanding of the complexities of housing delivery, and experience of working successfully with internal colleagues and external partners. You will also need excellent IT skills including an excellent working knowledge of MS packages.
The ability to converse at ease with members of the public and provide advice in accurate spoken English is essential in this post.
