Housing Management Co-ordinator

Location: Bradford and surrounding area, and also working as part of a larger team in Scunthorpe (Flexible Location Base)

Full Time (37.5 hours per week), 9 months Fixed term Contract (Maternity leave cover)

Salary of £19,300 to £24,300 per annum (pro rata) plus, brilliant benefits!

Empowering customers to live rewarding and happy lives. That’s when it hits home.

We have a fabulous opportunity for you to join our awesome team. We cover 16 properties across the Yorkshire region. In all of these properties we carry out the housing management tasks while another provider delivers the support to customers. You will work closely with a number of support providers ensuring safety and compliance. You will be part of a wider team as we also have two services in Scunthorpe.

You’ll be our Housing and Property Guru! Focussing on tenancy support, you’ll provide a housing management service to our customers, supporting them to manage their tenancy and rent accounts. You’ll also help our customers with their housing benefit claims and making sure that these are received on their rent account. You’ll turn around vacant bed spaces so that new customers who need our help can move in quickly. You’ll also make sure our service achieves maximum occupancy, and that we are health and safety compliant!

The role is very varied and often fast paced. No two days are ever the same and the hours can fly by! A typical day could involve visiting properties to carry out Health & Safety compliance checks, carrying out assessments for potential new customers or a shopping trip to buy new furniture for a service. Another day you could find yourself working alongside our maintenance surveyors assisting with planned works or meeting an Occupational Therapist looking at adaptations in our properties. You’ll also help our customers with their housing benefit claims and making sure that these are received on their rent account.

Customer quote

“Thank you for everything that you did for us. You have been amazing angels who looked after us daily.”

About our team

You’ll be working alongside our fabulous team who are super passionate about supporting customers to reach their goals and celebrating their achievements. To us were not just a team we’re a ‘work family’. Our manager is Lucy, she has worked for Home Group for over 7 years! There are 7 of us in the team and we don’t just love to support our customers, we’re there for each other too! You will work alongside the brilliant Afshaan our housing management Coordinator.

Working hours

You’ll usually work between the hours of 9am-5pm Monday to Friday. It’s the team’s unwritten rule that you attend the important appointments in life, be it your child’s school play, your partner’s graduation, or to get your new fridge delivered. You can elect to fit these around your working day or use your flexi to take the time off. Our focus is on getting the job done, not your working hours!

Bank

Looking for a more flexible working pattern? You can also join us on a flexible basis by being part of our bank. You can work hours that fit around your current commitments or even pick up some additional shifts to your main role to earn some extra cash and get paid weekly!

About you

You’re passionate and motivated to help vulnerable people make positive and lasting changes to their lives. You’ll impress us with your ability to work on your own initiative, positively influencing people from all different backgrounds. You will have some experience in safeguarding, risk assessments, confidentiality, support plans, alongside working collaboratively.

As Housing Management Coordinator you’re experienced in managing a housing management caseload and overseeing landlord and housing management duties. You know all about re-letting of rooms or units, collecting rents, and taking formal tenancy action when needed. You’re great at managing your own time and have strong written and verbal communication skills.

To make sure that we keep our records straight, and customers safe, it's really important that you are technologically savvy (or at the very least not a technophobe!)

To make sure our customers are well supported, it’s important that you have worked in a housing management role or something similar before. Don’t worry, we won’t drop you in the deep end, we’ll help to you understand how things work at Home Group!

As this is a community based role, you need to be able to drive, as well as having access to a car insured for business purposes. Don’t worry, we’ll pay you expenses to cover this use!

When you join, you’ll need to have a valid Enhanced Check under the Disclosure and Barring Service. The great news is that we will pay for that to be done if you don’t have a transferrable one.
