L&Q is one of the UK’s leading housing associations and developers. We house around 250,000 people in more than 100,000 homes, primarily across London and the South East, and more recently in the West Midlands and North West of England, and are delivering on our ambition to provide thousands of new homes every year. Our roots date back nearly 60 years, and we believe passionately that people's health, security and happiness depend on where they live.

Our vision is that everyone deserves a quality home that provides them with the opportunity to live a better life and our purpose is to provide homes and neighbourhoods everyone can be proud of. In April 2021 we published a new five year corporate plan to deliver this by setting out how we will provide safe, high quality homes, services and support for all of our residents. At the heart of this plan is a commitment to deliver change that will improve the quality of our service to residents, with their voice being fundamental to our plans.

We’re looking for a Director of Housing Management to spearhead this change - someone with a passion for housing, driven to deliver the very highest standards of customer service.  We’re designing services that will ensure greater ownership, responsibility and accountability and you will be responsible for shaping and leading these.

As well as enabling patch-based, local housing management, you will be responsible for estate services, caretaking and lettings.  You will also embed new specialist teams for anti-social behaviour and tenancy verification.  Working with your colleagues in the Customer Service Senior Leadership Team, you will create a culture which puts residents first, and is proactive, responsive and inclusive. You will foster a strong working relationship with our Resident Services Board, to co-produce service improvements, and drive up performance standards.

You will be experienced in managing housing at scale, either in a housing association or local authority.  A collegiate, corporate colleague, you will find solutions to long-standing problems by working across L&Q and embracing best practice.  You will be naturally curious, able to cut through inefficiency and create smarter ways of working.  A strong leader, you will enthuse and motivate your teams to do well, and you will be robust in tackling poor performance. You will constantly test whether our behaviours genuinely reflect our values and you will empower staff to be the best that they can be. Above all, you will be determined to make a difference and build a legacy of improvement which puts residents first by creating services that you would want to receive yourself.

This is a demanding role, which will require determination, motivation, resilience and creativity.  If you think that you are have the knowledge, skills and resolve to transform housing management at L&Q, we would love to hear from you.

Applications must be received by Friday 16th July at 5pm
