Delivering on our customer promise. That’s when it hits home

It’s an exciting time to join Home Group as we build more homes, independence and aspirations – the vision that underpins our five-year strategy. Our commitment to deliver on our customer promise, build the right homes in the right places and be market leaders in New Models of Care, is in the hands of our brilliant people.

Working as a lead with a number of our key contractors you’ll be accountable for monitoring and driving compliance and contractor performance to our agreed standards and resolving issues or disputes arising from our contractual works in order to deliver on our brilliant Customer Promise.

You’ll have an eye on continuous improvement across our Safety & Compliance Maintenance function which covers the management of gas and electrical servicing and repairs, water treatment, lift maintenance, fire risk mitigation and other specialist service related contracts.

Finding creative solutions and managing change are at the heart of what you do, and you enable services to rapidly improve, bringing people with you on the journey.

When you join, you’ll discover that it’s our brilliant people and culture that make a difference. We are No.7 in the UK’s Best Super Large Great Places to Work, 6th Best Place in the UK for Great Places for Women to Work, 18th in the Stonewall Top 100 and hold Investors in People Platinum Standard!

About our team

You’ll be working as part of our fabulous team who are super passionate about delivering a first-class maintenance solution to our customers. Our Director Paul has worked at Home Group almost 3 years now, having worked in contact centres and maintenance environments for the past 14 years. Outside of work Paul enjoys a hectic social life and when not cooking is planning his next trip with his wife Victoria!

You will have the support of a fantastic management team.  You’ll report into our brilliant Lead Maintenance Contract Manager (also called Paul) who has worked for Home Group for the past 7 years.  You’ll also work alongside and in partnership with David our Maintenance Contract Manager in the South Region covering our portfolio of approximately 12,000 properties extending from Peterborough to Norfolk, across the London Boroughs, and along the South Coast to Cornwall.

It’s the team’s unwritten rule that you attend the important appointments in life, be it your child’s school play, your partner’s graduation, or to get your new fridge delivered. You can elect to fit these around your working day or use your flexi to take the time off. Our focus is on getting the job done, not your working hours!

About you

As an experienced Maintenance and Contract Manager you’ll be RICS or CIOB accredited with a background in Surveying or Contract Management holding a building services degree or similar qualification. You will have worked in a similar role or similar technical property maintenance team with knowledge of safety & compliance, building construction and repairs.

You’ll be responsible for ensuring the team delivers an exceptional and effective customer focussed Safety and Compliance service. Customers are at the heart of all you do, and you’ll use your customer insight to develop new and improved services appropriate to the customer’s needs. You’ll have excellent inter-personal and organisational skills to prioritise workloads and meet deadlines.

Here at Home Group we have invested heavily in our future and use current and up to date equipment. You’ll be issued with the latest kit, which could include a Surface Pro and mobile. So, it's important to us that you are technologically savvy (or at the very least not a technophobe!)

You’ll have the chance to shape your own diary. However, you’ll likely spend time on the road to effectively maintain the properties and components you’re responsible for and have the option to work from home.
