About the role:

You will support the Category Manager in the  development and delivery of a category sourcing programme, managing relationships with suppliers and markets, delivering cost savings to the organisation and providing expert guidance across a range of internal stakeholders. You will be responsible for a specific set of categories under guidance from the Category Manager and will ensure compliance with the business governance and policy requirements whilst applying a risk-based approach to deliver maximum commercial value.

About you:

To be successful in this role, you will have:

A developed knowledge of Procurement processes and procedures.

Knowledge of contract law, standard forms of contracting and regulatory/ legislative requirements and the consequence of non-compliance.

Communication skills with the ability to articulate sensitive and technical information to internal and external audiences.

Experience of meeting KPI targets and service standards in a commercial environment.

Broad procurement experience across a variety of categories, both goods and services.

Procurement research, developing innovative solutions and contributing to the strategic planning process.

Buying or Purchasing experience preferred.
