Delivering on our customer promise. That’s when it hits home
It’s an exciting time to join Home Group as we build more homes, independence and aspirations – the vision that underpins our five-year strategy. Our commitment to deliver on our customer promise, build the right homes in the right places and be market leaders in New Models of Care, is in the hands of our brilliant people.
You’ll be responsible for fire related improvement works in our properties following Fire Risk Assessments (FRAs). You’ll promptly respond to actions identified in FRAs specifying works to correct standards. You’ll manage on site works to successful completion through pre and post inspection, delivered in accordance with Building Regulations, good practice and fire safety standards.
Keeping the customer experience at the front of our minds, acting quickly when things go wrong, taking ownership and being accountable to put things ‘right first time’ through collaborative working.
About our team
You’ll be working as part of our fabulous team who are super passionate about delivering a first-class maintenance solution to our customers. Our Maintenance Director is Paul, he has previously worked in contact centres and maintenance environments for the past 14 years. Outside of work Paul enjoys a hectic social life and when not cooking is planning his next trip with his wife Victoria!
You will have the support of a fantastic management team; you’ll be working for our Maintenance and Contract Manager David. David has worked for Home Group for 5 years having previously worked in other compliance-based roles. You will work as part of a local team and we don’t just love to support our customers, we’re there for each other too!
Where you will work
You will have specific responsibility for our properties within our South region and will cover Essex, Suffolk, Norfolk and surrounding areas.
The great news is that you will have the flexibility of working either from home or in one of our local offices and we’ll give you the technology and kit to make that easy.
You’ll be RICS or CIOB accredited with a Building Surveying degree or similar qualification. You will have worked in a surveyor role or similar technical property maintenance team with knowledge of building construction, repairs and safety.
With experience, knowledge and a working awareness of surveying, specifying and managing fire risk works from remedial repairs, maintenance and improvement works through to more complex works. You’ll have experience of working with fire door replacements, compartmentation upgrades, fire alarm and emergency lighting systems and associated active and passive fire precautions.
Due to the nature of the role you will be required to drive and have access to your own vehicle which you will be able to claim your business miles back on.
