Colchester Borough Council is ambitious in the use, management and development of its housing. Our plans to create hundreds of new, Council-owned, affordable homes does not distract from the desire to provide high quality, safe, homes for our existing tenants and contribute to the Councils desire to be net zero carbon by 2030. We have nearly 6,000 ​Council properties. and you would be the Client responsible for oversight, delivery and procurement of a Housing Improvement Plan of over £7m ​a year working with our ALMO, Colchester Borough Homes.

Do you have relevant experience to act as an intelligent client on contract procurement, performance and delivery? Are you keen to build relationships and collaborate to continually improve services?

We want someone who will lead, making decisions with our ALMO and other project teams to deliver our asset management strategy, HRA business plan and key performance indicators. You will co-ordinate, influence and instruct progress, maintain robust governance frameworks in project management, and continue to deliver effective and efficient housing improvement works.

As client you will work with a diverse range of people, from colleagues in planning, finance, and legal services, through to Councillors, residents and contractors. You will be someone who is solution focussed, good with all forms of communication, highly organised with a naturally methodical and strategic approach, but still being flexible and creative.

You must be passionate about making a difference to the lives of real people, including more vulnerable groups, and be keen to work for in a highly motivated Client Team and ambitious Council.
