Stonewater have delivered specialist Domestic Abuse Services nationally for almost 20 years. Our Bedfordshire refuges include a brand new purpose built 10 bedded refuge, as well as our South Asian Women’s Refuge which opened its doors in 2008 to deliver accommodation and support for 11 women and their children.

The role of Refuge Manager is an exciting role and one that is flexible, yet vital. You’ll manage and inspire your team to provide a high-quality support service to the women and their children who live at the Refuges and provide trauma informed support. You’ll work with your team of highly skilled Coaches to enable women to gain the skills they need to move into more independent accommodation. This will include domestic abuse recovery work, life skills, education, training, employment and wellbeing.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Experience of managing a domestic abuse service, giving you an understanding on the support we deliver and allowing you to achieve life changing outcomes for the women and families accessing the Refuges.
  • Ideally, some knowledge of the specific support needs and experience relating to survivors from a South Asian heritage.
  • Proven experience of complex caseload management.
  • Experience and the ability to successfully manage partnerships with specialist agencies such as the Police, Social Services etc.
  • Proven people management experience to motivate and develop a team.
  • A commitment to survivor voice and delivery of trauma informed support.

Appointment to this role will be subject to a satisfactory Disclosure and Barring Service Check, satisfactory references and possession of a valid Right to Work document.
