Have you been looking to earn some extra cash, whilst having flexibility to keep to your current commitments? Now you can! What’s more, you’ll be making a big difference! This is an exciting time to join us, we’re one of the UK’s largest Housing providers (and 10^th best place to work in the UK – Super Large organisations). You’ll be supporting our amazing customers as part of our flexible bank, picking and choosing the shifts you want to work.
You will be supporting our customer who is a lady in her 40’s with complex needs and challenging behaviours including learning disabilities, autism and OCD. She is looking for an experienced team to support her in her daily living activities, creating such good bonds that you will be considered family.
Our customer, let’s call her J, will be supported on a 2:1 basis. J enjoys going for daily outings to cafes listening to CD’s or the radio and watching DVD’s. She also has a love for makeup, lipstick and nail varnish, as well as learning new activities and expanding her vocabulary. J, who can get frustrated when not following a conversation, needs you to be able to adapt your language and explain things in familiar terms so that she is able to understand more clearly. You’ll be trained to support our customer’s mental and physical wellbeing and to take positive risks to enable her successful journey. If required (and only as a last resort), you may need to use physical intervention and we will provide you with the training and support to do this safely.
Where you’ll work
You’ll be joining Home Groups wider Kent transforming care teams. We have bases in Gravesend, Canterbury, Broadstairs, Ashford and Rainham, so whilst you will be working with J at her home in Snodland you will be able to support our other customers as and when there is a requirement.
There is lots for you to do and get involved in. You’ll go home each day knowing that you’ve made an amazing difference, how great is that!
How it works
Working on our bank, you’ll be able to pick and choose your shifts that you can work from those available in your area. You can do this on the go via your mobile!
You’ll be flexible to work at short notice, as you’ll be the one picking your next shift, working hours that fit around your current commitments. The great news is that you’ll be gaining loads of experience working with our brilliant colleagues and customer.
It’s important that you have worked in a similar role in a supported housing environment before, are willing to provide personal care and have experience of helping customers to reach their full potential. You’ll have a great understanding of professional boundaries, risk assessments and supporting your customers to enjoy the best possible quality of life. Ideally, you’ll hold a level 2 in Health and Social Care or equivalent.
When you join, you’ll need to have a valid Enhanced Check under the Disclosure and Barring Service. The great news is that we will pay for that to be done if you don’t have a transferrable one.

Our pay rates are based on Living Wage Foundation rate which means you’ll be paid a fair hourly rate for every hour that you work, and your rate even includes a payment towards your holiday pay!
