Work Hours: Full Time 7.5 hours per week

Salary from £18,576pa to £25,000pa (pro-rata) dependent on skills and experience

We have a fabulous opportunity for you to join our ambitious and hard-working team in the role of Community Housing Assistant. Your role in a nutshell is to support our team of Housing Managers to deliver brilliant services to customers; not just providing customers with a home, but also building relationships with them.
Our Housing Managers collect rent, chase arrears, fill empty properties, manage estates, collaborate with our maintenance colleagues and contractors and deal with anti-social behaviour. You will work side by side with them to help ensure that where our customers need support, we are available to assist them.

Our Operations Manager is Kayley, and our 3 Housing Managers (Jenny, Amanda and Everisto) bring a wealth of experience which they will share with you to help you develop your skills, knowledge and expertise. We don’t just love to support our customers, we’re there for each other too!
You’ll work across North and Mid Herts and will have the flexibility of working from home. The great news is that we’ll give you the kit you need to make that easy!
As a team we’re critical to supporting our customers, therefore, flexibility is key. You will be proactive and accountable for managing your own diary. The good news is it’s the team’s unwritten rule that you attend the important appointments in life. So, whether it’s your child’s school play, your partner’s graduation, or to get your new fridge delivered we’ll work with you around what matters. Our focus is on getting the job done in a flexible way that suits both you and our customers!
You'll have a proven passion for delivering excellent customer service and a genuine desire to help customers through use of your established time-management, organisational and admin skills in a proactive, solution-focused, friendly and optimistic way. You will work collaboratively with colleagues and external partners in your region, as well as our Customer Service Centre and Maintenance colleagues. You’ll use your creative spark and keen eye for detail to ensure our properties and environments are safe, secure and well-managed, supporting our communities to thrive. Naturally empathetic, you can build rapport quickly and it will also be brilliant if you have an understanding of confidentiality, professional boundaries, housing management, housing law and universal credit too!
You will support your Housing Managers by carrying out generic Housing Management activities including arrears, empty property and estate management, customer involvement, lettings and other related tasks. You will also support your team by working towards meeting challenging targets, including our all-important routine safety and compliance checks, and record them in a timely and accurate fashion, signposting customers to our Customer Service Centre where appropriate.
Here at Home Group we have invested heavily in our future and use up-to-date equipment. You’ll be issued with the latest kit, including a Surface Pro laptop and mobile phone. So, it's really important to us that you are technologically savvy (or at the very least not a technophobe!)
It would be amazing if you have worked in this type of environment before, however it’s your “can do” positive attitude, passion for customer service and enthusiasm that are critical to making this role a success. As this is an agile-working and community-based role, you need to be able to drive, as well as having access to a car insured for business purposes. Don’t worry, we’ll pay you expenses to cover this use!
If you are successful, we need you to have an Enhanced Disclosure Check through the Disclosure and Barring Service which we’ll pay for.
