The postholder will be responsible for budgets, the monitoring of programmes, will expected to undertake of pieces of research, consultant appointment and monitoring and will be responsible workstreams of the project as it progresses.

This is a newly formed and small team, however the work reaches across multiple teams and departments with Peabody. The Assistant Development Manager will be expected to build and relationships within Peabody and consult/communicate on progress as required.

Overall, the Assistant Development Management shall have an important role facilitating the successful delivery of the Heritage Estates project’s objectives to:

  • Support Peabody in achieving its Net Zero Carbon targets at minimal cost/maximum return to Peabody by developing a decarbonisation strategy for our Heritage Estates.

  • Reduce energy bills and improve comfort levels for residents. We must also ensure that creating fuel poverty is not an unintended consequence of making residents’ homes more sustainable.

  • Devise costed proposals for works and interventions to deliver EPC B (via building fabric improvements and heating system efficiencies; followed by on-site renewable energy generation) for each Heritage Estate, with any opportunities for regeneration or development incorporated into our recommendations.

  • Devise a programme that streamlines proposed capital expenditure and aligns it (if possible) with other major works to achieve a greater cost efficiency and minimise disruption to residents, cost to leaseholders and help reduce fuel poverty.

  • Engage external stakeholders regarding broader advocacy around regulatory and legislative challenges (MHCLG, GLA, Historic England, relevant LA’s, other RP’s/asset owners, etc.)

The team will provide excellent customer service by working in partnership with internal and external stakeholders to ensure our customers’ needs are met and the departmental/team objectives are achieved.
