You will investigate applications for housing in line with Home Group’s allocation policy and undertake home visits, hostel surgeries and case conferences as necessary. But it’s so much more than that. It’s also about working closely with our colleagues to make sure that where our customers need support, that we help them to live their best lives!
What makes us No.6 in the UK’s Best Super Large Great Places to Work, 4th Best Place in the UK for Great Places for Women to Work, 18th in the Stonewall Top 100 and Investors in People Platinum (!!) Standard….? It’s our brilliant people and culture!

About our team
To us we’re not just a team we’re a ‘work family’. Our manager is Anne Marie and has been working for us for over 20 years! There are 9 of us in the team, and we don’t just love to support our customers, we’re there for each other too!
You’ll join our amazing team of nine, with a whopping combined total of 50 years’ experience between us! We all work hard but have fun too! Our team are looking forward to welcoming you and sharing their skills and knowledge with you!

Where you’ll work
You’ll work across Dundee and have the flexibility of working either from home or in one of our local offices. The great news is that we’ll give you the kit to make that easy.

Working hours
Our team’s support is critical to our customers. This means you’ll work 37.5 hours per week. The good news is that you will have a degree of flexibility, as it’s the team’s unwritten rule that you attend the important appointments in life. So, whether it’s your child’s school play, your partner’s graduation, or to get your new fridge delivered we’ll work with you to be flexible. Our focus is on getting the job done, not your working hours!

About you
You'll have a proven passion for delivering excellent customer service and a genuine desire to help our customers. You will demonstrate effective relationship, negotiation and have the ability to self-manage and prioritise. You'll also need an understanding of housing law, universal credit, welfare benefits and how this relates to the work of a Registered Provider.
You will liaise and develop strong networks with external agencies as appropriate (including RSLs, Local Authority, Private Landlords) to co-ordinate and develop services to those in housing need. You will work closely with housing managers/business support colleagues in regard to referrals, options through Homeswapper or other house exchange networks, nominations and section 5 referrals.  You will work closely with our Financial Inclusion Partners to ensure that customers are maximising their income to allow this to be taken into consideration in regard to defining their housing options.  You will continuously improve services to meet challenging targets and obtain best value for customers, working in partnership with stakeholders, external partners and colleagues.
Here at Home Group we have invested heavily in our future and use current and up to date equipment and have a digital first agenda. You’ll be issued with the latest kit, which could include a Surface Pro and mobile. So, it's important to us that you are technologically savvy (or at the very least not a technophobe!)
It’s important to us that you are familiar with the social housing practice in relation to allocations, nominations and referral processes leading to tenancy sustainment.
You will have up to date knowledge of the current housing legislation and processes. Knowledge of national and local sources of funding and alternative sources of support for customers and clients.
As this is a community based role, you need to be able to drive, as well as having access to a vehicle insured for business purposes. Don’t worry, we’ll pay you expenses to cover this use!
When you join, you’ll need to have a valid Standard Check under the Disclosure and Barring Service. The great news is that we will pay for that to be done if you don’t have a transferrable one.
