Delivering support with a difference. That’s when it hits home
We have a rewarding opportunity for you to join our Transforming Care team, helping our brilliant customers to live a fulfilling life in their own home within the local community.
You will be supporting our wonderful customer, a gentleman in his 40’s, who is fun and bubbly at heart. He is looking for an equally as bubbly team to provide support and encouragement, helping him enjoy the best quality of life through assisting with daily living activities and increasing his independence. He has a wide range of interests and loves to be outdoors interacting with people. He also has a passion for football and thinks Tottenham Hotspurs are “the best team in the world” so anyone who shares this point of view would go down an absolute treat. His family are incredibly important to him and will work closely to improve his future health and wellbeing, our customer is considered as the primary focus in every decision made to ensure positive outcomes are achieved.
You’ll be part of a team of Care Workers providing support to our customer that is person-centred, recognises someone’s past life and experiences and builds on their strengths.  With your Team Leaders and Deputy Manager, you’ll be assisting him to enjoy the best quality of life and live as independently as possible.

About our team
You’ll be working alongside our Regional Transforming Care Manager, and Lucy our Deputy Manager, as well as our brand-new team of PBS Support Workers and clinical colleagues who are super passionate about supporting our customer to reach their goals and celebrate their achievements.

Where you’ll work
You’ll work primarily with our one customer in their own home in Broadstairs, as well as supporting him in the community. But there may be opportunities to work with our other customers in Kent!  You can use public transport to support our customer and we’ll pay your expenses to cover this!

Working hours
Our customer needs 24/7 help to meet his needs, so you’ll take your turn with your team working on a rota.  Shifts available include days, evenings, weekends, bank holidays or waking nights. You may also be required to do sleep ins in which an enhancement will be paid.  As we’re asking you to be flexible for our customer, we’ll also give you the time back that you need to spend time doing the things that matter to you!

About you
You’re passionate and motivated and will impress us with your ability to work on your own initiative, positively influencing our customer to work towards their goals and aspirations.  You will have some experience in safeguarding, risk assessments, confidentiality, support plans, alongside working collaboratively. You’ll also be willing to provide personal care when required, so some experience in physical assistance to help wash, (shower or bath) dress, oral care is also highly desirable.
You’ll have relevant experience and it would also be amazing if you have worked in this type of environment before, however it’s your “can do” positive attitude and enthusiasm that are important to us.  You’ll ideally hold Level 2 or 3 in Health and Social Care or equivalent or be willing to study for this which we’ll support you with.
When you join, you’ll need to have a valid Enhanced Check under the Disclosure and Barring Service. The great news is that we will pay for that to be done if you don’t have a transferrable one.

How we’ll support you
We’ll develop your talent and help you learn quickly how things work here and you’ll have a fantastic induction with ongoing learning and development! You’ll be trained to support our customer’s mental and physical wellbeing and to take positive risks to enable his successful journey to be having his own home and being part of his community. If required (and only as a last resort), you may need to use physical intervention and we will provide you with training and support to do this safely.
