We are launching a brand-new service at River View, Kendal in partnership with South Lakes District Council. You’ll be working with customers with a variety of support needs; from mental health, ex-offenders and other vulnerable adults with the aim of ensuring sustainable tenancies for those who have been homeless or at risk of homelessness.
As our Housing Concierge you’ll play a really important role in supporting the smooth running of our service. You’ll make sure that our buildings and customers are safe and secure, and that we get on with our neighbours!
You’ll get involved in lots of different activities which will include monitoring CCTV, regularly patrolling the premises, monitoring visitors to and from the building and ensuring tenancy conditions and service rules are adhered to. You’ll also be our first point of contact for customers during the night and at times we’ll also need you to do some general cleaning duties too. You’ll be tenacious, caring and want to make a difference to a person’s life!
About our team
You’ll be working alongside our fabulous team who are super passionate about supporting customers to reach their goals and celebrating their achievements. To us were not just a team we’re a ‘work family’. You will be working with a fantastic team of Support Workers and Coordinators and will be led by our brilliant Senior Client Service Manager, Kevin, who has a wealth of experience and knowledge to share with you.
We provide 24-hour support to our customers each day and every day. In this role you’ll work during the twilight hours doing waking nights. You’ll normally work between the core hours of 8pm to 8am. We need you to be flexible to meet the needs of our customers, but we aim to give you the time you need to spend time doing the things that matter to you!
You’re passionate and motivated to help vulnerable people make positive and lasting changes to their lives. You’ll impress us with your ability to work on your own initiative.
It would be amazing if you have worked in this type of environment before, however it’s your “can do” positive attitude and enthusiasm that are critical to make this role a success. We can nurture your talent, just let us know in your cover letter why you have a passion for working here!
Here at Home Group we have invested heavily in our future and use current and up to date equipment and have a digital first agenda, so, it's important to us that you are technologically savvy (or at the very least not a technophobe!)
How it works
Working on our bank, you’ll be able to pick and choose your shifts - from those available in your area. As busy as you are, you should be able to do this on the go via your mobile device!
What’s in it for you
At Home Group our pay rates are based on Living Wage Foundation rate. That means you’ll be paid a fair hourly rate for every hour that you work, and your rate even includes a payment towards your holiday pay!

When you join, you’ll need to have a valid Enhanced Check under the Disclosure and Barring Service. The great news is that we will pay for that to be done if you don’t have a transferrable one.
