As a leader, you will be responsible for developing the corporate communications team (spanning internal and external communications, digital, design, media and PR) to be a respected, valued and high performing function in the business. As a member of the leadership team, the Head of Communications will also play a role in shaping and contributing to the development of the business, providing communications expertise and guidance to senior stakeholders as required.

Lewisham Homes is currently embarking on an exciting business transformation journey to modernise systems and ways of working to benefit residents, staff and communities. A key element of the role will be to develop and implement a strategic and measurable communications plan to support this work, with a focus on building staff engagement and driving culture.

Resident communication and engagement is another important focus, including supporting the delivery of the new building and fire safety agenda in line with government policy and legislation.

Other duties of the role include:

  • Media and PR management
  • Managing and developing external communications tools and channels, including website and social media
  • Overseeing a range of regular internal communications, including executive all-staff video/email briefings, Covid-19 updates, news, campaigns, project updates, initiatives and events
  • Ongoing measurement and evaluation of communications activities to assess impact and reach, tailoring approach as required
  • Line management of the Communications Team
  • Managing the corporate communications budget

This role is agile working with some days being office-based. The role requires flexibility with regard to working hours, which may include some evenings and weekends.
