Can you support our customers, sustaining Futures?

If so, you could be our new Tenancy Sustainment Officer, ready to support people and families across the Northamptonshire area in our delivery of ‘Great Places’, ‘Great Services’ and ‘Great Tomorrows’.

You’re a housing support professional ready to utilise the great skills you’ve gained in your career so far working with customers experiencing a range of issues including mental health and domestic abuse impacting their ability to manage their affairs and maintain their tenancy. You’ll know how to tackle challenging situations and construct robust support plans enabling our customers to reach their potential.

Your resilience will ensure a ‘tough love’ approach and your ability to have open and honest conversations with customers will support the prevention of long term dependency on the service while working closely with Neighbourhoods, Money Advice and Domestic Abuse Champion.

Your ability to coach and motivate through your collaborative way of working and excellent communication skills will showcase through successful support plans and changed behaviours. Coupled with the emotional support provided you’ll be building self-esteem, self-confidence and removing barriers that in the long term will enable customers to undertake either paid or voluntary work through Futures employment services.

You’ll manage a small caseload, implementing positive intervention methods ensuring the right support is provided to customers who are risk of failing to sustain their tenancy and your established coaching methods will be put to great use as you work effectively with our customers both individually or within a family setting, supporting them in connecting with the community and developing the necessary skills and behaviours to manage their home and lifestyle successfully.

To start your journey with Futures take a look at our role profile, with your application we'd like a supporting statement outlining your competencies against this.

If you’re successful, you’ll be joining a dynamic organisation with an amazing culture. We offer competitive benefits that include agile working, mileage allowance, private healthcare options, discount schemes and with a big emphasis on health and well-being. You’ll also have great opportunities to grow and develop, personally and professionally, but the greatest reward will be knowing you’re helping people and communities across our region to thrive.

This year Futures has been awarded the coveted Investor in People Platinum award – the highest of IiP accreditation. The award recognises organisations which are passionate about making sure all employees get the best experience at work. Meeting the IiP criteria of improving, leading and supporting its people, has resulted in this prestigious accreditation that only a few employers receive.

We’ve also recently signed up to Harry’s Pledge, a campaign to support people who are working but also looking after a friend or family member who needs extra help. This could be an elderly parent, a friend with mental health issues, or a parent carer who looks after a disabled child, to name a few. We know balancing work and caring is tough and that’s why we have an extra focus on supporting team members in this situation. To help, we organise regular virtual support groups, have an Employee Assistance Scheme with 24/7 counselling, and offer Flexible Working from day one, helping you to stay happy at work and at home.
