Job Details

Housing is a top priority for Hackney. The Council is responsible for the homes of a significant proportion of residents living in the borough, representing approximately 23,000 tenanted and 9,000 leasehold properties. It is imperative that we continue to invest in these homes and blocks, managing and maintaining them efficiently and delivering a high quality, customer focussed repairs service. Following internal promotions, we are now looking for a Business Intelligence Analyst who will work with teams to drive service excellence.

Working within the Housing Transformation team, you will be responsible for reporting monthly on the performance of teams within Building Maintenance and Property & Asset Management, liaising closely with service managers on an ongoing basis to understand performance trends, provide challenge, identify improvement priorities and develop/support the implementation of improvement action plans. You will also be responsible for carrying out in-depth analysis of data on an ad hoc basis for service managers in order to drive improvement and also support change/transformation projects.

In addition to this, the Housing Transformation team is currently leading on two key projects which the Business Intelligence Analyst will provide support to:

  • Modern Tools For Housing: Replacing our legacy systems with a housing system that enables more self-service for residents, facilitates staff working from anywhere, supports a single view of the truth, is more secure and reliable, offers better value for money and is flexible to adapt and change.
  • Qlik Housing Services Roadmap: Optimising the use of data and advanced analytics to deliver more efficient working and better services to our residents.

To excel in this position, you will have a track record of delivering high quality performance reports within tight deadlines, as well as experience of carrying out complex data analysis work, strong ICT skills/system knowledge (including use of dedicated BI tools) and supporting change projects. You will also have excellent communication skills, as a key aspect of this role will be the ability to build effective working relationships, challenge performance and communicate performance trends with people at all levels of the organisation.

Experience in Housing is desirable but not essential.

Hackney is one of the UK’s highest performing local authorities, serving one of London’s best places to live and work. We have achieved a huge amount: our services, our schools, our public spaces are all amongst the very best. We have changed the reputation, not just of the Council, but of Hackney itself. Bringing jobs and investment into the borough, securing the legacy from the 2012 Games, and making this a place of which we can all be proud.

When applying, it is essential that you include a supporting statement, addressing how your skills, knowledge and experience meet all aspects of the post, as indicated in the job description and person specification.

The recruitment process is anonymous.

Please ensure that you do not include your name on any of your supporting documents or on the file attachments.

Closing date for applications: Sunday 15 August 2021

We are also working towards our vision, which is to be a place for everyone; where residents and staff can be proud; a place that celebrates diversity and where everyone can feel valued, included and involved. In order to achieve this, we look for people who are: Proud; Ambitious; Pioneering; Open; Proactive; Inclusive.

Hackney Council works to eradicate discrimination on the basis of race, religion, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability, pregnancy and maternity, age and marital status. We also recognise that people can be disadvantaged by their social and economic circumstances, so we will also work to eliminate discrimination and disadvantage caused by social class. We also welcome those interested in flexible working. We particularly welcome applications from disabled people, as this group is currently under represented in our workforce.
