Peabody have an exciting opportunity for Hoarding Coordinator to join our team in Chatham. You will join us on a part-time, fixed-term basis. In return, you will receive a competitive salary of £20,101.60 per annum.

About the Hoarding Coordinator role:

You will be a key member of the Home Improvement Agency team offering high quality flexible personalised support for people who exhibit hoarding behaviours that live within the Sevenoaks District area in Kent. Your role will require you to deliver personalised support to customers in their homes aiming to address and reduce the risks connected to their hoarding.

Responsibilities of our Hoarding Coordinator:

- To identify and deal with any immediate needs to ensure customer safety

- Building trust and rapport with each individual

- Carrying out needs and risk assessments and completing support plans

- Organising and providing regular structured support sessions with each customer, covering topics such as practical support, financial support, and relationship problems

- Working with and engaging the customer to work towards de-cluttering their home, this may involve working with other members of staff or partner agencies

- Identifying with the customer’s SMART personal goals to work towards

- Identifying where possible the root cause for the hoarding disorder and seek to refer the customer to specialist support services

- Where appropriate encourage customers to involve their families and partners to support their recovery

- Assessing an individual’s ability and proactively work towards resolution through self-management strategies

- Ensuring customers are signposted or referred onto external agencies as necessary

What we’re looking for in our Hoarding Coordinator:

- At least 2 years demonstrable life and the decisions they make

- Understanding and having empathy for people with mental health needs and people who display hoarding behaviour

- Ability to deal effectively and calmly with challenging situations that may arise

- Well organised with excellent time management skills, able to arrange and manage workload demands, determine priority tasks, meet tight deadlines and achieve goals

- Comprehensive IT skills, to include use of Microsoft office (specifically the use of Microsoft Excel)

- Ability to collect data, produce case studies and reports

- The capability to listen to the individuals expressed preferences and choice with respect for their values

- Ability to carry out person centred assessments of the individuals perceived difficulties/need

- Able to communicate effectively with a wide range of people, both verbally and in writing using easy to understand plain English

- The ability to access appropriate resources for evidence-based practice

- Demonstrable commitment to equality and diversity and a genuine desire to help people with disabilities and/or support needs
