Clarion Housing Group is the country's largest housing association with 125,000 homes nationwide. We're a social landlord, providing affordable homes overwhelmingly for people who can't meet their housing needs on the open market, a property development company, a charitable foundation and a repairs and maintenance service.

The Repairs & Maintenance Team oversee the delivery of our in-house and external repair service, ensuring providers deliver the service to Clarion's customer standards and operate within the agreed price per property or price per void cost model. The team manages the complex repair programme, ensuring environmental health notices and legal disrepair case are well managed to conclusion, and the business risk are minimised.

We're looking for a Regional Maintenance Manager to manage the operational regional repairs service, ensuring we meet performance against budget, operational KPIs, priorities and compliance requirements, thereby ensuring our legal disrepair and risk position.

You'll provide clear and visible operational and project leadership for the local and regional R&M team, ensuring a consistent, joined up approach to service delivery and enabling continuous improvement.

We'll look to you to actively contribute to the collaborative management of the repairs provider contract(s) through operational core group meetings, deputising for the Head of Operations as required, and provide regular strategic and operational updates on performance, compliance, complaints, budgets and trends to inform onward planning and strategy.

You'll be required to engage with key local authority partners, contractors, suppliers and technology companies to lead the delivery of an effective maintenance service to the region's properties, including responsive repairs, voids and aids & adaptations within agreed timescales and performance levels.

Other responsibilities include

  • Ensuring the regional business plan priorities reflects the R&M Team needs, and embedding the strategic plan
  • Ensuring quality standard, control and contract specification requirements are met, implementing an improvement plan where necessary
  • Effective budgetary management of approximately £5m
  • Ensuring all cases of Disrepair and Enforcement Notices are prioritised, and managing solicitors to represent Clarion and ensure our risk register of litigation is up to date.

With a recognised degree level qualification in a property related discipline and substantial experience of successfully delivering a similar role in Housing or Repairs, you'll be a member of a relevant professional body e.g. RICS or CIOB.

You'll need a sound knowledge of construction contracts and experience of responsive repairs, voids works and cyclical repairs requirements within the context of a PPP/PPV contractual relationship.

We're seeking leaders with proven leadership of high performing teams, excellent communication skills and the ability to drive performance improvement.

If you have knowledge of current legislation relevant to Asset Management, Health and Safety and construction, and experience of effectively managing external contractors, we very much look forward to hearing from you.

In return, we offer a highly competitive salary, a Group Bonus Scheme and other benefits, including a defined contribution pension matched up to 7.5% and generous life assurance.

Closing Date - Midnight on 12th August
