Housing Management Worker
Lobley Hill, Gateshead
Permanent, Full Time (37.5 hpw)
Salary circa £18,576 to £18,730 per annum dependent on experience

Do you want to work in a brand spanking new 5* building? We have fabulous opportunity for you to join our awesome team where you will be the first in the door and can really help shape the service.

You’ll support our brilliant customers who are older people living in a community wellbeing hub. Our fabulous building is called Watergate House (although it’s not yet completely built) when open it will be a 82 bed service for over 65’s living semi independently, with the need of extra care. The building will have its own beauty salon and Café and roof terrace.

You will help to fill the service with brilliant customers and be responsible for the collection of rental income, as well as leading on building health and safety compliance. You will be involved in organising activities for our customers to give them the very best quality of life.

About our team
You will be joining a brand new team led by Therese, who has been with Home Group for over 9 years and is bringing her wealth of experience in Housing management and bubbly personality to this new role! Therese is super excited about building this team of 14 people which will include a Client Service Manager, Housing Management Workers, Concierge Workers, Cleaners, Cooks and a Handyperson, who will all come together to form a brilliant work family.

Working hours
We provide 24-hour support to our customers therefore you will work on a rota basis and take your turn working days, and the odd weekends here and there. We need you to be flexible to meet the needs of our customers, but we aim to give you the time you need to spend time doing the things that matter to you!

About you
You’re passionate and motivated to help older people live their best lives. You’ll impress us with your ability to work on your own initiative, positively influencing people from all different backgrounds. It would be brilliant if you have experience of working within supported/social housing or have a property management background.

You’ll be a real people person and have great communication skills as you will be interacting with several different external agents to ensure the service runs smoothly. You’ll also have responsibility for coordinating our concierge workers, apprentices and volunteers.

We are looking for some tech savvy people who know their way around an excel spreadsheet and can whip up word documents at the drop of a hat. You will be able to manage your diary and emails using outlook.

If you are successful, we need you to have an Enhanced Disclosure Check through the Disclosure and Barring Service which we’ll pay for.
