What you'll do

We’re looking for an exceptional Head of Service who wants to make a difference and strives in a challenging fast paced environment. If you have a proven track record of managing the delivery of fire safety compliance, can think strategically and respond positively in a changing environment, then a fabulous opportunity has arisen to come and join us at Optivo.

In this exciting role, you will lead and manage the team responsible for delivering fire safety activities, implementing the change and business improvements required following the Hackitt Review and subsequent legislation/regulation.

You’ll raise awareness of Fire Safety, and support the business in delivering consistent messages to stakeholders including engagement with residents.  Ensuring that fire safety and other relevant compliance policy outcomes are achieved via effective management of service providers and robust processes.

You’ll also be responsible for pursuing third parties for non-compliance against building requirements, regulations and/or workmanship, and applying of any funding opportunities. While supporting the development of technical standards for internal stakeholders and service providers, making sure that fire safety is embedded in the design and delivery of new buildings.

What you’ll need

You’ll have a track record of successfully managing an Asset Management/Property Services/Fire Safety or Compliance Team at a senior level within a comparable organisation.

You’ll have a comprehensive understanding of fire safety, requirements on housing organisations and awareness of fire safety construction quality standards, regulations and best practice.

You’ll have excellent communication and interpersonal abilities; well-developed, ambassadorial, influencing, networking, promotional and negotiating skills. Along thorough understanding of and personal commitment to diversity; treating others with dignity and respect.
