We are looking for a Category and Social Value Manager (1 post) to join our Procurement team.

The Category and Social Value Manager will manage discrete areas of spend within Property Services, implementing the procurement strategy and policy that enables the delivery of value for money and to identify Social Value outcomes for the Property Service.  

Responsibilities will include supporting the Senior Category Manager with specialist knowledge of the allocated categories ensuring value for money, reduced risk and improved overall business outcomes. As well providing commercial intelligence and advice, using data analysis techniques to provide monthly reports on actual spend against contract, off contract spend, new suppliers, supplier issues and performance.

Identify relevant social value opportunities within the Property Service contracts and supply chains that meet our customer’s needs. Work collaboratively with internal and external partners, and other stakeholders to ensure Social Value outcomes are delivered and reported to Head of Procurement. Deliver bespoke social value projects that includes design, delivery, budgets, monitoring, and social value evaluation to ensure they are fit for purpose, liaising with internal partners as required.

Provide expertise and support to key stakeholders (and other colleagues as required) on all aspects of social value and procurement, including sourcing options, where you will compile and manage tender process from end to end ensuring best practice, PCR compliance and managing commercial and contractual risk.  Expert advice will also be provided in contract specifications, forms of contract, tender packaging, and pricing strategies. 

In order to be successful it is essential to have experience of Property Services Category Management, and market knowledge of minor construction works and compliance procurement, experience of Public Contract Regulations, issuing of contract notices and contract award processes. As well as experience of contractual terms and conditions relating to Property Services, experience of delivering, managing, and reporting Social Value within a procurement function and experience of delivering projects on time and on budget, including monitoring and evaluation. The successful candidate will also be CIPS qualified.
