We are looking for a Senior Arborist (1 post) to join our Environmental Services team.

In this role you will be responsible for the day to day management of a small in house Arboricultural Team delivering a wide range of high quality, practical arboricultural operations and excellent customer service, ensuring that tree works are carried out to the highest standards safety and arboriculture excellence and that key performance indictors (KPI) in respect of quality, productivity and safety are followed.

You will arrange work, provide advice and guidance to customers and resolve any complaints and you will assist in conducting emergency tree works in addition to scheduled tree maintenance, under the direction of the Arboriculture Manager or Tree Specialists along with assisting with the planning and delivery of a works programme from survey data and will update the digital system as required.

To be successful in this role it is essential that you hold NPTC/Lantra units in Arboriculture: CS30/CS31/CS32 Maintenance, Cross-cutting and Felling Small and Medium trees, CS38 Climb Trees and Perform Aerial Rescue, CS39 Operate a Chain Saw from a Rope and Harness and Manually fed Brushwood Chipper, Stump grinding NPTC, CS 40/CS41 pruning and sectional dismantling and PA1/PA6 Pesticides training.

It is also essential that you are experienced in supervising an arboricultural team and in using associated plant and equipment as well as experience in delivering high levels of customer service and examples of successfully delivering high standards of arboricultural works to BS: 3998. 

You require an excellent working knowledge of all relevant safety procedures including risk assessments and safe systems of work and the ability to accurately identify tree species and diagnose basic ill health and structural defects.  You will also need IT skills – Microsoft office to Intermediate level and experience of using GPS / GIS equipment and software effectively.

It is desirable, but not essential that you have NPTC/Lantra CS33/CS34/CS35/CS36 Fell large trees, Sever individual uprooted or multiple windblown trees and Breakdown of broad leaved crown, CS48 powered pole pruners, a Windblown trees qualification, PASMA/MEWP training or a Level 3 or above qualification in Arboriculture or similar, NEBOSH or IOSH.
