We’re on the hunt for new board members and a committee member.

South Liverpool Homes is a housing association that manages over 3,800 homes in South Liverpool, predominantly in Speke and Garston. Since we formed over 20 years ago, we have invested heavily in our homes, but we are about more than just bricks and mortar. We invest heavily in our communities, ensuring they are sustainable while at the same time improving the life chances of our customers living in them.

You will join us at an exciting time as we are in the planning stages of our corporate plan, taking us on our next journey beyond 2022. This is all happening at a time when our world has changed following the Covid-19 outbreak; transforming how we are delivering our business and services to our customers which will be integral to the corporate plan review.

The success of delivering our priorities and vision relies on strong, robust governance and this is where you come in. We’re looking for ambitious and committed people who can join us on our next chapter; people who share our passion and dedication to make South Liverpool the place to be, with the skills to drive forward this fantastic organisation.

Board members

We have vacancies for two board members to join our highly committed team. The board delivers our strategic direction in line with our mission and vision, and as a member, you will be expected to commit the time and energy to fulfil the responsibility as an SLH board member.

For one of these two roles, we are particularly looking for someone with skills in strategic financial and treasury management, including the ability to understand, analyse and interpret complex financial and commercial information. A formal accounting qualification is also desirable.

For the other, we would ideally like to hear from someone who is a local community activist who understands the challenges faced by the residents and communities of South Liverpool.

The remuneration for both these posts is £3,858 per year.

Independent Committee Member

We have a vacancy for an audit & risk committee member. The committee meets four to five times a year and has responsibility for ensuring that South Liverpool Homes and its subsidiary companies' internal control system operates satisfactorily and that each organisation has adequate risk management arrangements in place. We are looking for someone with knowledge and experience in the following areas:

Experience of audit and risk governance processes

Working knowledge of audit committee practices and risk management frameworks

The ability to identify, assess and review key risks facing the organisation, develop strategies to mitigate risk and consider risk appetite

The remuneration for this post is £3,858 per year.

If you’re passionate about joining us on our next chapter and meet the skills set out in the role profiles, then we would love to hear from you.

We encourage applications from underrepresented groups and are committed to equality and diversity. Applications are encouraged regardless of age, disability, sex, gender reassignment, sexual orientation, religion and/or belief, marriage and civil partnership and pregnancy and maternity.

For an informal discussion about any of these roles, call Claire Ryan on 07817 866 137. The closing date for these roles is 12 noon 6 September 2021.
