Combined with the natural ability to build relationships with contractors, stakeholders and consultants, a fabulous opportunity has arisen to join us as a Quality Control Manager in Croydon.
In this exciting permanent contract in a growing team, you’ll ensure sites are regularly visited to check workmanship and standards of construction and recommend corrective action where necessary.
You’ll regularly inspect and report on a portfolio of sites to ensure new developments are constructed to the agreed standards and defect free.
You’ll be able to adopt and comply with strategy and regulatory requirements, organisational values, policies and procedures, including Health and Safety, Equality and Diversity, Procurement, Safeguarding, Value for money, plus design standards.
You’ll visit sites where necessary to resolve issues pre and post-handover.
You’ll liaise with main contractors and consultants to highlight and resolve any identified or anticipated construction or quality problems.
You’ll be required to provide regular reports highlighting any concerns, addressing these items such as construction, quality, safety etc. Ensuring full and accurate records of progress and inspections are kept.
What you'll need
The successful candidate will have ideally worked for a Housing Association, Local Council or worked for the NHBC or in Building Control as a Clerk of Works or Quality Control Manager with extensive experience delivering on new build residential schemes.
You’ll have in-depth knowledge of construction and design and construction related defects and how to avoid them.
You’ll have a proven track record of carrying out site quality inspections, snagging and post completion defects management.
You’ll ideally have a CSCS card or construction related certifications.
You’ll also need to have a full UK Driving licence and access to a vehicle.
The role will work with a range of residents and colleagues, so a positive approach to collaborative team working is essential. You’ll need to live our one team culture.
