Who are we looking for:

Nacro have been undertaking a significant and exciting transformation in the way we deliver services and support our clients. As part of this transformation Housing are refocusing their services and have a recently formed central Housing Management team, responsible for delivery of a high performing, customer orientated housing management landlord service in liaison with our operational supported housing teams.

We have a Housing Manager role who will be part of this team based in the South of England, covering our services based in the South West, South East, London and Wales. 

You will be an experienced housing professional  with awareness of providing and managing housing in a supported housing environment, you will have knowledge and experience of  the regulation that housing providers follow for tenure and enforcement in housing whilst having an appreciation of the vulnerable clients that Nacro work with.  You will be a good communicator with enthusiasm to support Nacro’s vision.

Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:

 • To be accountable for the performance and service delivery of effective housing management in your geographical area

.• Working with your local areas to reduce rent arrears• Preparation of legal documents and representation at court, assisting area managers and their teams with any complex ASB including use of Injunctions, Income Collection, Benefit Issues and Tenancy Management

.• To ensure tenancy processes and procedures are implemented within legal requirements and statutory timescales.• Provide guidance and coaching to staff members as required to improve the achievement of service outcomes

.• Regularly engage with area teams, attending team meetings, providing advice and training on income, benefits and tenancy management to front line workers.

• Establish positive relationships with external stakeholders including Local Authorities, housing benefit teams, Courts, DWP etc

.• Monitor, review and report progress to the Head Housing Management on the performance and cost-effectiveness of the service, analysing relevant data to identify performance against targets and KPIs.

 • Contribute to the development and review of relevant budgets.

• Providing assistance with the rent setting, rent increase processes and with Local Authorities for rent approvals

.• Oversee the delivery of key strategic objectives of the housing management service working with front line workers to ensure that Service Users understand the implications of any action being taken.

You will also have at least 2 years’ housing management experience at court level and/or qualified to level 3 or 4 housing practitioner level  

 A full driving license and access to a car is essential for this role.
