What will I be doing?

You will be working within the City Council’s housing Delivery Service and enjoying a variety of responsibilities, leading the Housing Development Team to support the delivery of the Council’s New Build Affordable housing programme. Your role will focus on managing the Development Team; through the delivery of sites from feasibility studies, option appraisals, planning applications, construction and successful handover of the homes to the Landlord Service client (in line with the client brief and ensuring policies), procedures, and ensuring budgets and timescales are adhered too. This will include producing regular programme and project progress reports.

You will be involved in commissioning project work to support the delivery of housing developments, helping develop policies and procedures that underpin delivery, as well as planning and leading community consultation events. You will create and maintain strong working relationships with the Mayor and Councillors, the Council’s Development Management, Legal, Highways, Finance and other Council services; along with HomesWest Registered Provider Partners, Housing Organisations, Homes England, Community Anchor organisations, and a range of internal and external partners.

What do I need to have?

If you have a passion for housing development and construction and experience of working in a project delivery environment and managing a development team, we would welcome an application from you. Ideally, you’ll have a relevant professional qualification along with demonstrable experience of housing development and construction and in preparing, maintaining and updating project documentation such as business cases, development appraisals, cost benefit plans, risk logs and highlight reports to successfully support the development team in the delivery housing development projects.
