DESCRIPTION/RESPONSIBILITIES:
Housing Management Worker

Cumbria, Wigton
Full Time (37.5 hours per week), Permanent
Salary of £18,576 to £18,730 pa, plus, brilliant benefits!

Empowering customers to live rewarding and happy lives. That’s when it hits home.

We have a fabulous opportunity for you to join our awesome team. At Fairview Court, we support our brilliant customers who have mixed support needs. Some customers have a learning disability, some are over the age of 55 with a care need and some are over the age of 55, living independently. They live in a modern purpose built scheme of 42 two and one bedroom flats in Wigton and all customers have access to the communal lounge facilities for social events. We also have a Pull Cord and Pendant System that provides 24 hour access to our on site care team. We help our customers by focussing on tenancy support.

You’ll support by helping them to manage their tenancy and rent accounts. You’ll also support our customers with their housing benefit claims and making sure that these are received on their rent account. You’ll turn around vacant bed spaces so that new customers who need our help can move in quickly. You’ll also make sure our service achieves maximum occupancy, and that we are health and safety compliant!

Whilst the main base for the position will be at Fairview Court, Wigton, you’ll be willing to work flexibly and have a can-do approach about travelling to and working at other schemes across the Cumbria.

About our team
You’ll be working alongside our fabulous team who are super passionate about supporting customers to reach their goals and celebrating their achievements. To us were not just a team we’re a ‘work family’. Our manager is Ellie, who has worked for Home Group for 3 years. There are 10 of us in the team and we don’t just love to support our customers, we’re there for each other too! We keep in regular contact, and enjoy a weekly team quiz to end the week on a high!

Working hours
You’ll be working Monday to Friday between the hours of 08.30am and 4.30pm. We aim to give you the time you need to spend time doing the things that matter to you!

Whilst your main base will be Fairview Court, Wigton, we may also require you to work from other bases across the county.

About you
You’re passionate and motivated to help vulnerable people make positive and lasting changes to their lives. You’ll impress us with your ability to work on your own initiative, positively influencing people from all different backgrounds. You will have some experience in safeguarding, risk assessments, confidentiality, support plans, alongside working collaboratively.

As Housing Management Worker you’ll support letting and re-letting rooms or units, collecting rents, and taking formal tenancy action when needed. You’re great at managing your own time and have strong written and verbal communication skills.

To make sure that we keep our records straight, and customers safe, it's really important that you are technologically savvy (or at the very least not a technophobe!)

It would be amazing if you have worked in this type of environment before, however it’s your “can do” positive attitude and enthusiasm that are critical to make this role a success. We can nurture your talent, just let us know in your cover letter why you have a passion for working here!

As this is a community based role, you need to be able to drive, as well as having access to a car insured for business purposes. Don’t worry, we’ll pay you expenses to cover this use!

When you join, you’ll need to have a valid Enhanced Check under the Disclosure and Barring Service. The great news is that we will pay for that to be done if you don’t have a transferrable one.
