Plus, brilliant benefits!

Empowering customers to live rewarding and happy lives. That’s when it hits home.

We have a fabulous opportunity for you to join our awesome team! We support our brilliant customers who live independently in our Sheltered accommodation.

Hastings House is a block comprising of 31 self-contained apartments with communal areas such as a lounge, kitchen and laundry room. The accommodation is located in Park End in Middlesbrough and has access to local shops.

We help our customers by focussing on tenancy support and helping to reduce social isolation. You’ll support by helping them to manage their tenancy and rent accounts. You’ll also support our customers with their housing benefit claims and making sure that these are received on their rent account. You’ll turn around vacant bed spaces so that new customers who would like to live in Sheltered Accommodation can move in quickly. You’ll also make sure our service achieves maximum occupancy, and that we are health and safety compliant!

About our team
You’ll be working alongside our fabulous team who are super passionate about supporting customers to reach their goals and celebrating their achievements. To us we’re not just a team we’re a ‘work family’. Our manager is Vicky who has worked for Home Group for 16 years and is passionate about supporting our customers. Our newly appointed CSM Diane, works closely alongside Vicky and when not supporting our customers and the team runs a Ukulele group and is looking forward to getting back to live performances! There are 10 of us in the team and we don’t just love to support our customers, we’re there for each other too!

Working hours
You’ll work between the hours of 8.30am – 4.30pm Monday to Wednesday. We need you to be flexible to meet the needs of our customers, but we aim to give you the time you need to spend time doing the things that matter to you!

It’s the team’s unwritten rule that you attend the important appointments in life, be it your child’s school play, your partner’s graduation, or to get your new fridge delivered. Our focus is on getting the job done, not your working hours!

About you
You’re passionate and motivated to help vulnerable people make positive and lasting changes to their lives. You’ll impress us with your ability to work on your own initiative, positively influencing people from all different backgrounds. You will have experience in safeguarding, risk assessments, confidentiality, support plans, alongside working collaboratively.

As Housing Management Worker you’ll support letting and re-letting properties, collecting rents, and taking formal tenancy action when needed. You’re great at managing your own time and have strong written and verbal communication skills.

To keep our records straight, and customers safe, it's really important that you are technologically savvy (or at the very least not a technophobe!)

To make sure our customers are well supported, it’s important that you have worked in a housing setting previously to support customers with their tenancy. Would be fantastic if you have worked with this customer group and in this environment before. Don’t worry, we won’t drop you in the deep end, we’ll help to you understand how things work at Home Group!

As this is a dispersed team, you need to be able to drive to support other services as necessary, as well as having access to a car insured for business purposes. Don’t worry, we’ll pay you expenses to cover this use!

When you join, you’ll need to have a valid Enhanced Check under the Disclosure and Barring Service. The great news is that we will pay for that to be done if you don’t have a transferrable one.
