Salary

Hackney Council is passionate about providing homes people can be proud of. Each year, we invest up to £50m in our varied housing stock, which ranges from Victorian street properties and pre-war mansion blocks to tower blocks on large estates. This is your chance to play a central role in delivering our strategy and the ambitious capital programmes it depends on.

As a key member of our Property and Asset Management team (PAM), you will take the lead on quality control, quantity checks and inspections across our multi-million pound construction works. With a portfolio of some 33,000 properties, this will be a demanding role. It will see you leading a team of up to eight building Clerks of Work and a Technical Support Administrator.

Together, your focus will be on ensuring the technical standards that underpin the quality of our services. Fire safety. Energy efficiency. Design standards. Accessibility. All this and more will fall within a wide-ranging remit that will have significant influence over our annual programmes.

As well as an impressive level of technical experience, your background will cover everything from maintenance contracts and embedding rigorous standards and procedures within inspections, to working in partnership with contractors to achieve the best possible outcomes.

Your passion for social housing will be reflected in your comprehensive knowledge of the field, whether it’s housing sustainability requirements or building regulations. Leading from the front and by example is something that will come naturally to you. This will have served you well within the complex, multi-disciplinary environments in which you’ve worked.  m
