A new opportunity exists for a talented Development and Aftercare Officer to join our professional development team. As a Development and Aftercare Officer, the role is wide ranging but with a focus on managing defects on new build schemes and inducting residents into their new homes. Both being vital elements, these have a real impact on our residents lives.

Lewisham Homes is an ambitious not-for-profit organisation focused on improving housing in the borough. As well as managing 19,000 homes on behalf of Lewisham Council. As a Development and Aftercare Officer, you will be responsible for acting as the first point of contact for residents /stakeholders to diagnose, manage and record defects until satisfactory conclusion. You will work closely with project managers to support project delivery and gain a full understanding of the projects to ensure a smooth handover to our management and maintenance team.

If successful the main duties of your role will be:

  • Be first point of contact for residents /stakeholders to diagnose, manage, record defects until satisfactory conclusion
  • Lead on new resident induction visits. Have full understanding of new scheme operational / technical equipment. Be able to support new residents in the operation of their new home/environment
  • Supporting project managers throughout the project lifecycle. Ensuring robust project governance is deployed
  • Review, edit and provide draft communications to keep residents informed of project progress.
  • Investigate and resolve complaints/enquiries

  • Ability to work under pressure and to deadlines
