PROTECTING FUTURES

The world of social housing regulation and accountability is fast evolving, our Governance & Assurance team is taking major strides to enhance the development of an effective assurance framework underpinning our strong social purpose and provision of customer-centric services as we deliver ‘Great Places’, ‘Great Services’ and ‘Great Tomorrows’.

As a result we’re investing in our governance arrangements to build on the strong foundations we already have in place and so we’re on the hunt for a data protection specialist to lead the team that helps this organisation keep its information secure, navigating us confidently through GDPR legislation.

As a growing, ambitious and exciting organisation, Futures needs someone with the skills and knowledge to manage all aspects of personal and sensitive information across our business.

This is a brilliant opportunity to not only ensure we meet our legal requirements but to also take a lead role in shaping how we do it and how to influence colleagues to play their part.

Our Lead Data Protection Officer will monitor and report on how we’re complying, whilst proactively identifying areas of risk, implementing mitigations, leading investigations and tackling emerging issues.

We’d also want our new colleague to oversee how our service teams operate, providing guidance, training and coaching to create a culture where data protection is on everyone’s radar.

Finally, you will have the confidence and gravitas to present reports to our Board and Executive Team and instill a proactive data protection/ information security aware culture that is role modelled from ‘the top’.

With your application we would like a covering letter of no more than one page telling us how you feel your skills, competencies and experience match the role profile. You should also explain how you align with our culture and values. You can include this in your CV document or email to recruitment@futureshg.co.uk

IF YOU’RE SUCCESSFUL

You’ll be joining a highly motivated and growing team, determined to play our part in responding to the delivery of the Charter for Social Housing residents. You can bring all your skills and experience to the different roles available which will help us improve our systems for:

  • partnering with colleagues across the business to manage and mitigate risks
  • ensuring we have great data providing information that enables us to take great decisions
  • leading on data protection
  • providing quality support for our Boards, Committees, executive and internal teams

THAT SOUNDS LIKE ME. WHAT CAN YOU OFFER

It’s an exciting time of change at Futures Housing Group! We’ll be moving our main office to a state-of-the-art, flexible new workspace later this year. However in this role the need to attend the office will be on ‘occasional business need’ basis so we’ll provide you with a great agile kit to get on with the job wherever you do your best work!

We’ve also recently signed up to Harry’s Pledge, a campaign to support people who are working but also looking after a friend or family member who needs extra help. This could be an elderly parent, a friend with mental health issues, or a parent carer who looks after a disabled child, to name a few.

We know balancing work and caring is tough and that’s why we have an extra focus on supporting team members in this situation. To help, we organise regular virtual support groups, have an Employee Assistance Scheme with 24/7 counselling, and offer Flexible Working from day one, helping you to stay happy at work and at home.

We could wax lyrical about the range of amazing benefits we offer as part of Our Futures Rewards.  But we think there are four big things which makes Futures a great employer.

We’re flexible. We know life is what happens while you’re busy making other plans. So we give you the flexibility to strike your work / life balance.

We invest in your success. We love to see our people doing well, so we have a dedicated training and development budget to help you reach your potential.

We’re innovators. We’ve launched Futures Frontiers, a project to identify and experiment with new technology to help boost our business. You’ll love helping make innovation in technology part of our DNA.

We’re award-winning. We love to win and we want to be known as a centre of excellence for customer service, transformation, development, innovation.

This year we’ve been awarded the coveted Investor in People Platinum award – the highest of IiP accreditation. The award recognises organisations which are passionate about making sure all employees get the best experience at work. Meeting the IiP criteria of improving, leading and supporting its people, has resulted in this prestigious accreditation that only a few employers receive.
