Originally formed by the London Borough of Newham as an innovative and independent vehicle for the acquisition and refurbishment of temporary accommodation; We work in 8 London boroughs and across a variety of districts in Essex. We continue to acquire and refurbish properties and added 300 homes to our stock last year. We also offer intermediate rented homes for local keyworkers.

That’s why we’ve tripled the size of our component replacement and planned works programmes, it’s why we are making a major investment in the development of our repairs and online services over the next 4 years and it’s why we’re recruiting this post to get the best for our customers out of our superior landlords and partner local authorities.
You will be working within the property services team (6 staff). The team are responsible for the day to day delivery of our responsive repairs, voids, planned maintenance, component replacement, statutory compliance and some facilities management services. You will be working to ensure that the data management and analysis using computerised systems supports the immediate and longer strategic and operational requirements of asset and property management within the organisation.
Our property services priorities for the coming years are:
- Re-configuring delivery of our planned works programmes to prioritise the customers experience
Re-configuring our work programmes to accommodate works delayed.
Delivering our enhanced component replacement programme on time and on budget
Improving our performance monitoring and reporting tools
Maintaining our Keystone Asset Management data set (we hold stock condition survey data for 87% of our stock and we therefore rely very little on cloned or extrapolated stock condition data).
Improving our works processing arrangements to facilitate prompt accruals-based management accounting
Reviewing planned works and component replacement procurement practices
Bench-marking our planned works costs and quality
Embedding new responsive repairs contractual arrangements
Developing and launching digital responsive repairs and planned works services to customers
We are looking for a Compliance & Asset Management Assistant who can demonstrate:
- A passion for improving our customers’ quality of life
A real understanding of helping to improve data management and analysis for construction related services by the production of high quality information that assists in managing statutory requirements and the delivery of the programmed works delivering programmed works that will ensure customer satisfaction and production of performance management information.
Experience of working within construction related services either in compliance or contract management using processes and monitoring tools
Experience of working with the configuration and use of operational systems and technology, such as Keystone Asset Management. Experience of successfully launching & embedding digital services to customers
- To provide technical and specialist support to the Senior Compliance Officer and the organisation in relation to construction related compliance, health and safety and planned and capital works requirements using the range of computerised internal and external data and management systems.
To assist the Senior Compliance Officer in dealing with contractor and customer matters in relation to the management and organisation of systems and processes relating to the management maintenance of compliance related services and planned and capital works management systems to ensure that the organisation meets the current and ongoing performance, statutory instruments and legal requirements.
Undertake routine administrative duties in line with the Operations Department and any necessary follow-up work in relation to contractor, customer services and internal organisational requirements.
