We are looking for a Payroll Manager (1 post) to join our Payroll team.

Covering for a period of maternity leave, this role will provide operational leadership to the payroll team, ensuring legislative and statutory compliance and maintaining high standards of performance, continuous improvement and service delivery.

You will lead the payroll team to deliver accurate and timely payrolls ensuring all statutory obligations are met efficiently and effectively and in accordance with Onward policies and procedures. You will be responsible for coaching and developing team members to enhance their performance and service delivery and support them in understanding their role in the team and wider business.

You will need to maintain up to date knowledge of payroll and pensions legislation to ensure the business remains compliant and satisfies all regulatory and statutory obligations, including planning ahead and managing change. (e.g. auto enrolment, pension contributions changes). You will also be responsible for the development of payroll systems and processes, exploiting functionality to streamline and improve the service offering.

GCSE in Maths or equivalent, and being a member of CIPP to at least Level 5 and/or equivalent experience is essential. You will also have the ability to work under pressure, when required, to deliver positive outcomes and be able to prioritise workload effectively and be flexible to meet strict deadlines. Ideally you will have experience of staff management and development.
