About The Team
Our Building Safety Team is responsible for building safety investigations, remediation and installations, and for setting up the systems required to deliver the requirements of future building safety legislation and guidance. The team is a newly formed team led by our Director of Building Safety, it’s an exciting time to join the team and help shape how the organisation works to ensure our buildings are safe.  

About the role
We have an exciting opportunity for a Building Safety Design & Quality Manager to join our team in London or Oldham, Greater Manchester on a permanent basis.

The successful applicant will provide technical building safety expertise and knowledge to support the delivery of high-quality developments through the building safety gateways. Advise on the assessment, review and approval of prospective construction methods, building materials and installation methods.

What we’re looking for

You’ll not only be a skilled Building Safety Design & Quality Manager , but you’ll also have great customer service skills and a willingness to go the extra mile to get the job done. You’ll also be able to demonstrate:

  • Excellent knowledge and experience of building pathology, construction methods and materials.
  • Thorough understanding of building regulations and the requirements of the Building Safety legislation.
  • Experience of working on construction projects and the stages involved from planning to occupation.
  • Proven experience of investigating and resolving building defects.
  • Proven experience of working collaboratively with other teams to implement procedures and improve efficiency.
  • Proven experience of negotiating with external 3rd parties to achieve satisfactory resolutions
  • Knowledge and experience of successful project management, management and negotiation.
  • Demonstrates the Guinness Behaviours.
  • Demonstrates the Guinness Leadership and Management Standard.
  • Good written and oral communications and interpersonal skills.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Building related degree.
  • Membership of CIOB or RICS.

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Membership of IFE (Institution of Fire Engineers)
