Housing Management Worker

Homeside Lodge, Wallsend
Full Time (37.5hrs per week), Permanent
Salary £18,576 to £18,730 pa rising to £19,200 through length of service

We have fabulous opportunity for you to join our awesome team. We support our brilliant customers at Homeside Lodge is an extra care scheme for 55’s and over located in Wallsend. Care and Housing staff are available on site 24 hours a day to support our customers with all needs. We have a fantastic team of staff consisting of Care, Housing, Caterers, Cleaners and Concierge.

Our customers have a range of care and housing needs inclusive of dementia, complex health and learning disabilities and our staff are trained in providing the best care to suit their needs. We fully promote enablement ensuring our customers are living as independently as possible within their home.

We are regulated by the Care Quality Commission (CQC). CQC are the independent regulator of health and social care in England who monitor the service we provide to ensure we meet fundamental standards of quality and safety. There is a full time Registered Manager as well as a large care team that support customers with all aspects of care needs, instructed by the local authority.

The Housing team support customers to maintain their tenancy and living independently and are also responsible for the health and safety of the property, repairs and maintenance to ensure our customers live in a safe environment which feels like home.

We have 45 en-suite apartments which include a wet room, walk in shower and wood floors. We have 6 communal dining rooms, 6 communal kitchens and 6 communal bathrooms. There is also one main kitchen where the catering team are based and one large communal dining room. We offer a full furniture pack which includes a bed, wardrobe, bedside table and draws for customers who don’t have belongings to bring with them.

About our team
You’ll be working alongside our fabulous team who are super passionate about supporting customers to reach their goals and celebrating their achievements. You will also join the wider Management team and will work with our brilliant Operations Manager Katie, our Senior Client Services Manager, Richard and our Registered Manger, Sophie who all have a wealth of experience in housing, care and support. We all work together and support each other to achieve excellence within our services. To us were not just a team we’re a ‘work family’.

Working hours
You’ll work on a rota of 4 days on and 4 days off but here at Home Group we work flexibly, and the focus is on getting the job done and that means trusting each other. It’s the team’s unwritten rule that you attend the important appointments in life, be it your child’s school play, your partner’s graduation, or to get your new fridge delivered.

We provide 24-hour support to our customers each day and every day. In this role you’ll work a 12-hour shift to ensure the service is covered.

About you
You’re passionate and motivated to help vulnerable people make positive and lasting changes to their lives. You’ll impress us with your ability to work on your own initiative, positively influencing people from all different backgrounds. You will have some experience in safeguarding, risk assessments, confidentiality, support plans, alongside working collaboratively.

As Housing Management Worker you’ll support letting and re-letting rooms or units, collecting rents, and taking formal tenancy action when needed. You’re great at managing your own time and have strong written and verbal communication skills.

To make sure that we keep our records straight, and customers safe, it's really important that you are technologically savvy (or at the very least not a technophobe!)

To make sure our customers are well supported, it’s important that you have worked in either a social housing or care setting environment before. Don’t worry, we won’t drop you in the deep end, we’ll help to you understand how things work at Home Group!

If you are successful, we need you to have an Enhanced Disclosure Check through the Disclosure and Barring Service which we’ll pay for.
