Plus, Brilliant Benefits!

Keeping customers and colleagues safe. That’s when it hits home!

We have an excellent opportunity for you to join us as our Fire Safety Technical Manager within our Health & Safety Team here at Home Group.

Leading a small team of fire risk assessors, you will be responsible for delivering an effective fire risk assessment programme to ensure we keep our customers and colleagues safe. You’ll also develop and enhance our fire safety management system, in accordance with recognised standards.

You’ll be our fire guru and promote good fire risk management to reduce fire safety risks relating to Home Group activities.

What makes us No.7 in the UK’s Best Super Large Great Places to Work, 4th Best Place in the UK for Great Places for Women to Work, 18th in the Stonewall Top 100 and Investors in People Platinum (!!) Standard…? It’s our brilliant people and culture!

About our team
You’ll be working alongside our fabulous team who are super passionate about keeping our customers and colleagues safe. To us were not just a team we’re a ‘work family’. Our manager is Irusha, who is recently new to Home Group as well. Irusha enjoys playing cricket and passionate about people and safety. There are 12 of us in the team and we don’t just love to support our customers, we’re there for each other too!

About you
You will have a social housing background with experience of successfully managing, coaching and developing a fire risk assessment team. You will hold a level 4 award in Fire Safety and have a CFPA diploma. It would be brilliant if you also hold a level 5 diploma with the Institution of Fire Engineers (IFE). You will have technical awareness of the requirements of Part B (B1-B5) of the England and Wales Building Regulations.

You’ll be comfortable in using systems and have significant experience of working with data and reporting, with the ability to provide insights to a wide range of audiences.

Where you’ll work
This is a hybrid working role, so you’ll spend some days in the office, some days working at home and other days working from our different sites. You will need to be out and about visiting our properties and colleagues, 3 to 4 days a month. The great news is that we’ll give you the technology and kit to make that easy.

Working flexibly
It’s the team’s unwritten rule that you attend the important appointments in life, be it your child’s school play, your partner’s graduation, or to get your new fridge delivered. You can elect to fit these around your working day or use your flexi to take the time off. Our focus is on getting the job done, not your working hours!
