Due to current Coronavirus (COVID-19) restrictions we are following Government advice and this may result in interviews being held via video call.  

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Councils Community Protection Team. The postholder will be responsible for the effective management of the enviro-crime and anti-social behaviour functions ensuring the delivery of professional regulatory advice, guidance and enforcement of the range of relevant legislation including that relating to social housing.  

The post holder will carry out complex investigations within the framework of the specific legislation including investigation of offences, inspections and advisory visits, promotional activities, issue legal notices and prepare prosecution files and take legal action where appropriate. 

All applicants must be enthusiastic, good team workers with commitment, flexibility, capable of working on their own initiative and able to manage finance and keep budgets on target.  The applicant will produce reports to all levels of management and Elected Members, including recommendations for improvement or future action.  

The successful applicants will deliver against personal and team targets, handle complaints and produce reports.  

Successful applicants should have experience of liaising and working closely with internal services and external bodies to carry out their role and to promote partnership activities to create safer neighbourhoods and safeguarding of those at risk.

From 1st April 2017 to 31st March 2022 employees paid at Band D and above are subject to a temporary pay reduction of 1.15% spread out by means of a weekly / monthly deduction (dependent on pay frequency) from each pay period over the full financial year.
