We are currently looking for a Clerk of Works to specialise in undertaking all End of Defect inspections, coordinating and monitoring progress and following up with contractors to ensure that works are completed to a satisfactory standard. You’ll also support Clerk of Works colleagues when required in undertaking inspections of workmanship, material and design compliance on site.

What you will be doing:

  • Coordinating timely end of defect inspections and managing the contractor and their works through to completion

  • Ensuring that all defects are rectified in a timely manner
     

Provide support when required by carrying out the following:

  • Attending site weekly, undertaking compliance inspections, providing detailed reports and negotiating to correct any site issues

  • Coordinating timely snagging and back snagging inspections

  • Completing all data collection information as required

  • Knowing each scheme’s individual specification, design, terms and conditions
     

We’d love to meet someone with:

  • Excellent customer service skills

  • Sound construction technical knowledge - Ideally with experience of working as a Site Manager

  • Time served building trade apprenticeship or equivalent

  • Good understanding of Building Regulations, NHBC standards or equivalent

  • Excellent organisational skills and a methodical approach

  • Strong customer service skills

  • The ability to liaise in a non-confrontational style in order to resolve any issues on site or post completion
