Enabling our customers to live safely. That’s when it hits home!

We have a fabulous opportunity for you to join our awesome team. We support our brilliant customers who are adults aged 25+ and have complex needs. Railway Terrace provides supported accommodation and floating support to up to 90 customers throughout North Tyneside. As our Housing Concierge you’ll play a really important role in supporting the smooth running of our service.  You’ll make sure that our buildings and customers are safe and secure, and that we get on with our neighbours!

You’ll get involved in lots of different activities which will include monitoring CCTV, regularly patrolling the premises, monitoring visitors to and from the building and ensuring tenancy conditions and service rules are adhered to.  You’ll also be our first point of contact for customers during the night and at times we’ll also need you to do some general cleaning duties too.

Customer quote
"Railway Terrace helped me after I had been sleeping rough. The staff helped me to get a flat and made me feel like I had a life again!"

About our team
Although you’ll work nights, we do get together regularly in the day time for training and team meetings. You’ll be part of our wider team who are super passionate about supporting customers to reach their goals and celebrating their achievements. To us we’re not just a team we’re a “work family”. Our managers are Elaine and Tracy and Bonny who have worked at Home Group for a combined 16 years. Tracy and Elaine are obsessed with RuPaul's Drag Race and keep trying to think of ways they can bring more glitter and sequins into the service.

There are 23 of us in the team and we don’t just love to support our customers, we’re there for each other too! This usually involves a ridiculous amount of biscuits and the kettle always being on the boil.

Working hours
We provide 24-hour support to our customers each day and every day. In this role you’ll work during the twilight hours doing waking nights work. You’ll work on a rota basis and take your turn working weekends and bank holidays. We look need you to be flexible to meet the needs of our customers, but we aim to give you the time you need to spend time doing the things that matter to you!

Bank
Looking for a more flexible working pattern? You can also join us on a flexible basis by being part of our bank. You can work hours that fit around your current commitments or even pick up some additional shifts to your main role to earn some extra cash and get paid on a weekly basis.

About you
You’re passionate and motivated to help vulnerable people make positive and lasting changes to their lives. You’ll impress us with your ability to work on your own initiative, positively influencing people from all different backgrounds. You will have experience in safeguarding, risk assessments, confidentiality, support plans, alongside working collaboratively.

We help change our customer’s lives for the better. You’ll play your part by assisting in the delivery of tasks that are based on our customers personal support plans, and their needs and aspirations. You’ll work with our Senior Support Workers and external agencies to assess and engage support for our customers. We empower our customers to develop the independent living skills they need, to successfully move on. Together we’ll make a difference!

To keep our records straight, and customers safe, it's really important that you are technologically savvy (or at the very least not a technophobe!)
