DESCRIPTION/RESPONSIBILITIES:
Home Condition Surveyor

Location: North East, Tyneside, Northumberland, Teesside and Durham
Full Time, (37.5 hpw) 12 months Fixed term
Salary circa £32,000pa plus, Brilliant Benefits!
Delivering on our customer promise. That’s when it hits home

We have a fabulous opportunity for you to join our awesome team where you will carry out condition surveys of our rented properties. You will collect data, both internally and externally to help us inform our internal planned maintenance programme.

This will ensure we deliver on our customer promise carrying out work at the right time to ensure our customers have a safe place to live.

What makes us No.7 in the UK’s Best Super Large Great Places to Work, 4th Best Place in the UK for Great Places for Women to Work, 18th in the Stonewall Top 100 and Investors in People Platinum Standard….? It’s our brilliant people and culture!

About our team
You’ll be working alongside our fabulous team who are super passionate about delivering on the customer promise and ensuring that our customers have a safe place to live.  To us we're not just a team we’re a ‘work family’. Our manager is Craig who has an extensive career in the social housing sector across different organisations, Craig has a wealth of knowledge and experience to share with you. You will be joining a new team with a real passion to make a difference.

We don’t just love to support our customers, we’re there for each other too! The other two Home Condition Surveyors in the team have been with Home Group for nearly 6 months now. Philip carries out Home Condition Surveyors in the North West of the country and David carries out the same in the North East. We're a friendly bunch and try to meet in person as often as possible!

Where you’ll work
You’ll work across the North East of England within Tyneside, Northumberland, Teesside and Durham areas. The great news is that you will have the flexibility of working either from home or in one of our local offices and we’ll give you the technology and kit to make that easy.

Working hours
It’s the team’s unwritten rule that you attend the important appointments in life, be it your child’s school play, your partner’s graduation, or to get your new fridge delivered. You can elect to fit these around your working day or use your flexi to take the time off. Our focus is on getting the job done, not your working hours!

About you
You’ll hold a relevant HND or HNC in a relevant construction discipline or relevant experience in construction and the built environment, ideally gained within the Social Housing sector. You understand how stock condition surveys work and their importance to the way information is stored, modified and used in the bigger planned maintenance programme.

Knowledge of housing repairs and improvements, including experience of Building Regulations, best practice, Housing Health & Safety Rating System (HHSRS).  An understanding of sustainability and its importance in social housing.

Here at Home Group we have invested heavily in our future and use current and up to date equipment. You’ll be issued with the latest kit, which could include a Surface Pro and mobile. So, it's important to us that you are technologically savvy (or at the very least not a technophobe!)

You’ll have the chance to shape your own diary. However, you’ll need to travel to appointments most days.

When you join, you’ll need to have a valid Standard Check under the Disclosure and Barring Service. The great news is that we will pay for that to be done if you don’t have a transferrable one.
