Plus, brilliant benefits!

Enabling our customers to live safely. That’s when it hits home!

Calling all you night owls! This advert is only worth reading if you are one of those people who prefer staying awake and working through the night rather than snoozing the night away like the rest of us! We are looking for two dedicated night workers who won’t fall asleep on the job! Are you as energised as a new Duracell bunny? Have the alert skills of a meerkat? If so…this is the job for you!

This is a really exciting, shiny new opportunity here at Home Group. It’s based in our brand-new Move On service in Gateshead. Your role will be pivotal in supporting to create an inclusive caring community for our customers. As part of “Move on” you will be the first port of call for any customers needing assistance during the night.

You will also be expected to monitor CCTV in a small community as well as the cameras within the service itself. Our community cameras are predominantly used to identify things like fly tipping and to report any antisocial behaviour in the area to the police. There will be some light cleaning duties and a bit of health and safety work too. The great news is that you won’t be expected to patrol the community, just monitor via CCTV. To assist in keeping you safe you will use Alert com with regular hourly check ins.

Gateshead Move-on service consists of 50 self-contained flats’ mainly in the Leam Lane area of Gateshead. Our aim is to help our customers develop the skills needed to maintain their tenancy and live successfully in the community.

About our team
While you will be lone working through the night, you’ll never truly be without support, as there is a great team around to help you! Our “Out of Hours Team” who are based in Newcastle will be on hand to provide advice and assistance if needed at any time between the hours of 5pm to 9am, as well as having an On-Call Manager.

Our service will be staffed day and night, with our full team led by Karen, the Senior Client Service Manager. Karen has managed many different Home Group Services and her favourite thing to do is setting up new innovative projects like this one! Our aim is to be the very best at what we do which is delivering housing related support.

Working hours
You’ll be working while most of us will be tucked up at home and likely asleep. You will work on a shift basis which will include working late evenings and nights each week which will include some bank holiday and weekend working. Your working pattern will generally be a mixture of 4 on 4 off or 3 on 3 off between the hours of 8pm and 8am in any given week. We look need you to be flexible to meet the needs of our customers, but we aim to give you the time you need to spend time doing the things that matter to you!

About you
As our Housing Concierge you’ll play a really important role in supporting the smooth running of our services. You will ensure the safety and securing of our buildings and of our customers, and make sure we get on with our neighbours!

You’ll get involved in lots of different activities which will include monitoring CCTV, regularly patrolling the premises, monitoring visitors to and from the building and ensuring tenancy conditions and service rules are adhered to.  As our housing support Concierge, you’ll also provide out of hours cover being the first point of contact for our clients during the night and at times we’ll also need you to do some general cleaning duties too.

You’re passionate and motivated to help vulnerable people make positive and lasting changes to their lives. You’ll impress us with your ability to work on your own initiative.

If you’re not the biggest fan of technology, that’s not a problem to us. You do need to know that we are quite a high-tech company and most of our application process and mandatory learning are online. However, we’re glad to support you, if you need help.

It would be amazing if you have worked in this type of environment before, however it’s your “can do” positive attitude and enthusiasm that are critical to make this role a success. We can nurture your talent, just let us know in your cover letter why you have a passion for working here!

When you join, you’ll need to have a valid Enhanced Check under the Disclosure and Barring Service. The great news is that we will pay for that to be done if you don’t have a transferrable one.
