We have fabulous opportunity for you to join our brand-new Repairs and Maintenance team. You’ll be responsible for supporting the maintenance teams and you will be required to undertake various semi-skilled duties, providing support for other trades and collecting general building items for disposal or storage.
You’ll be responsible for driving a caged tipper vehicle and will drop off general builder materials and waste for delivery and disposal. You will have a current full UK driving licence and sound knowledge of building construction, components, building trades and site operations.
All jobs will be undertaken with a ‘right first time’ culture. All aspects of semi-skilled duties will be undertaken, with an approach to completing the whole job and supporting repairs and maintenance colleagues, aligned to recognised standards of compliance and quality.

About our team
You’ll be working alongside our fabulous team who are super passionate about delivering a customer focussed repairs and maintenance service to deliver on our Customer Promise. You’ll work for one of our Repairs and Maintenance Supervisors and Chris Grant our Repairs and Maintenance Manager.
Where you’ll work
You will be provided with a work vehicle and initially work across the County Durham, Washington and Sunderland area, we’ll give you the technology and kit to make that easy.

In order to meet the needs of our customers, we need to be flexible. This means you’ll work 5 days per week, and you may also be asked to take part in our out of hours service. As we’re asking you to be flexible for us, we aim to give you the time you need to spend time doing the things that matter to you!
You’ll have experience of undertaking a wide range of semi-skilled works in a maintenance environment. You will have experience and knowledge of building construction components and activities carried out by building trades in a construction environment.
With a flexible approach and ability to take ownership, you can use your own judgement and initiative.
You will be willing to assist and support other trades, such as roofers, bricklayers, joiners, as and when required.
Here at Home Group we have invested heavily in our future and use current and up to date equipment. You’ll be issued with the latest kit, which could include a Surface Pro and mobile. So, it's important to us that you are technologically savvy (or at the very least not a technophobe!)
When you join, you’ll need to have a valid Standard Check under the Disclosure and Barring Service. The great news is that we will pay for that to be done if you don’t have a transferrable one.
