Do you thrive in a fast-paced work environment? Do you enjoy working to tight deadlines? Do you like to make a difference? If this sounds like you, this could be your perfect role.

At Johnnie Johnson Housing, we’re looking for a Digital Content Developer to join us.

Your challenge as Digital Content Developer will be to deliver an outstanding digital and content service; leading on managing web content, design and development which result in a user-centred approach to all websites. You’ll be promoting the benefits of these principles to improve the quality and impact of our communications and supporting the strategic content and planning process, identifying opportunities for good content and improvements to digital user experience across all brands. You’ll look to raise the bar of our user experience and user interface execution!

So now you’ve heard a bit about the role, let us tell you a bit about the team! It’s important to know who you might be working with, right?

Our Team

You will report into the Communications and Marketing Manager and sit within a close-knit team of eight. As well as providing support to the organisation, we support each other too. We work hard but we also like to have fun and you’ll often find us catching up outside of work.

About you

This role will suit someone who has similar experience, designing digital content and designing user interfaces and graphics for web and mobile apps. You’ll have a good understanding of what makes good engaging content and have great knowledge of brand guidelines and design principles for offline and online media.

We need you to have prior experience as a UI/UX designer, working with HTML5, CSS3 and Javascript. You’ll be proficient in Adobe Creative Suite (or equivalent) and have experience in digital collaboration and whiteboard tools such as Miro. With outstanding writing skills, comfortable writing and editing using a style guide, you will have experience of producing content that meets WCAG 2.1 AA accessibility standards and understand the importance of accessibility and usability in content design. Experience of creating dynamic content using programmes such as Adobe Premier Pro and Photoshop is equally as important, as is experience of analytical tools like Google Analytics and A/B testing tools, to generate analysis and insight.

And the benefits of working for us?

We’ve adopted a completely hybrid way of working, meaning you can work from home and/or our brand new Innovation Hub at Eden Point in Cheadle Hulme! As long as our residents and customers are put first we’ll also give you a degree of flexibility using our ‘My Lifestyle’ guidelines, meaning you can attend to the important things in life. So, whether you’ve got a yoga class you’d love to attend, your child’s school play or maybe it’s just that you’ve just got a new fridge being delivered, we will work with you to be flexible!

We also offer a fantastic holiday allowance of 33 days per annum (including statutory holidays) which rises to 38 days after 5 years’ service. We can offer you a 35-hour working week, an enhanced 5% employer contribution pension scheme and a recognition scheme with both financial and non-financial rewards such as gift vouchers, healthcare discounts, and loads more fantastic benefits too – you can find out more about these on our careers site!
