DESCRIPTION/RESPONSIBILITIES:

Bank Housing Concierge - Waking Night flexible shifts

Location: Gloucester

Hourly rate from £9.50 & Weekly Pay

Working hours that suit my lifestyle. That’s when it hits home.

Have you been looking to earn some extra cash, while keeping to your current commitments? Now you can! What’s more, you’ll be making a difference!

This is an exciting time to join Home Group – one of the UK’s Largest Housing providers and be part of our brilliant flexible bank. You’ll be supporting the smooth running of our services by ensuring the safety and security of our buildings and of our amazing customers, and ensure we get on with our neighbours! And, you’ll be picking and choosing the shifts you want to work.

On our Housing Concierge bank, you’ll play a really important role in supporting the smooth running of our service.  You’ll make sure that our buildings and customers are safe and secure, and that we get on with our neighbours!

You’ll get involved in lots of different activities which will include monitoring CCTV, regularly patrolling the premises, monitoring visitors to and from the building and ensuring tenancy conditions and service rules are adhered to.  As our bank housing support Concierge you’ll also provide out of hours cover being the first point of contact for our clients during the night and at times we’ll also need you to do some general cleaning duties too.

Where you could work

You will mainly be based at Honyatt Road, which is a few minutes’ walk from Gloucester city centre. Other properties we have also include Alexandra Road which is a few minutes from the bus station.

You’ll be joining our team who support our brilliant customers who have experienced homelessness or have a risk of homelessness. Young peoples service houses customers aged between 16 and 24 years and our adult services housing those aged over 18 years. Our customers live in single bedrooms and we have a few self-contained flats! Our main priority is helping our customers address their issues that led them to being homeless and working on finding permanent housing.

Customer quote

“The team are so supportive and approachable. I couldn’t have moved to my new home without them.”

 About our team

Although you’ll work nights, we do get together regularly in the daytime for training and team meetings. Our manager is Emily who has worked for Home Group for 2 years! She is a recent graduate of the University of Gloucestershire and is keen to support those wanting a chance to gain experience in housing and supporting with those to further their educations! There are 4 of us in the team and we don’t just love to support our customers, we’re there for each other too! We often meet up with other members of our teams across different properties for meals out or picnics Covid-19 permitting!

How it works

Working on our bank, you’ll be able to pick and choose your shifts - from those available in your area. As busy as you are, you should be able to do this on the go via your mobile device!

These will be twilight shifts, so you’ll be a night owl and will include weekdays, weekends and bank holidays.

About you

You’re passionate and motivated to help vulnerable people make positive and lasting changes to their lives. You’ll impress us with your ability to work on your own initiative.

You’ll be flexible to work at short notice, as you’ll be the one picking your next shift. The great news is that you’ll be gaining loads of experience working in different services or locations. But we do need to be a real people person!

You may already work in a similar environment in housing with vulnerable adults or have done so in the past, however it’s not a deal-breaker if you haven’t. However to be brilliant, we do need you to have a caring attitude, resilience and the desire to learn and make a difference!

What’s in it for you

At Home Group our pay rates are based on Living Wage Foundation rate (definitely more than some organisations!) That means you’ll be paid a fair hourly rate for every hour that you work and your rate even includes a payment towards your holiday pay!

After you have been paid for your first shift, you’ll even get a chance to stretch your money further when you get access to our brilliant shopping discount scheme!

You’ll even get access to our excellent learning portal to develop your skills further! We’re sure you will find working for us brilliant, so if you want to stick around, you’ll be able to apply for all of our roles!

When you join, you’ll need to have a valid Enhanced Check under the Disclosure and Barring Service. The great news is that we will pay for that to be done if you don’t have a transferrable one.
