Senior Client Services Manager

Location: Bath and Weston Super Mare

Full Time (37.5 hours per week), Permanent

Salary Circa £28,800 pa up to £36,300 pa (negotiable based on skills and experience).  Plus on call shift payment of £14.30 per session

As a great leader you have a genuine passion to lead our services in delivering aspirational person-centred housing related support. As our Senior Care Manager, you’ll have overall responsibility for managing our services in Bath and Weston Super Mare. You will also be part of a wider team of brilliant managers who always support each other!

Bath services offer a range of support to customers with a variety of support needs. We deliver floating support and accommodation-based services. Assisting people to learn to budget, completing HAP (our tenancy training programme) and supporting them to access services to support their wellbeing and working towards moving on to independence. We have a team of 8, including a housing management coordinator, 4 support co-ordinators, 2 concierges, a health coach and a handy person.

In Weston Super Mare we offer support to young people aged 16/17 under the care of the Local Authority and those 18+ leaving care to have their first independent accommodation. This is a 24/7 service with a staff team of 6 plus bank staff who are always on hand to pick up shifts where needed. We work in partnership with local agencies to deliver a holistic support package to customers to meet their diverse needs.  With a real focus on education, structure and building independent living skills customers are supported to prepare for their future.

About the role
You'll have direct management of all frontline staff. You’ll deliver efficient, high quality, cost effective and customer centred services. You’ll empower our customers to live independently and make it a great place to work for our colleagues.  As Manager and safeguarding lead, you’ll ensure the high performance and quality assurance of our services using your experience and strong skills in effectively motivating and directing colleagues. You’ll also monitor service performance against contractual targets and ensure that the service is visible and accessible to referring agencies and self-referring customers too.

There are 14 in the team, plus bank staff, and we don’t just love to support our customers, we’re there for each other too! The team have a wealth of experience and are a fantastic team, with a love of cake!

You will also join the wider South West management team and will work for our Operations Manager Julia who loves to travel, listening to live music and walking her Border Collie, Murphy!

A bit about you
We want someone like you, who has significant experience as a Service Manager in managing large contracts, associated KPI’s, budgets and can drive the consistent delivery of high-quality services to meet the needs of our customers and commissioners.  

To be awesome in this job, your key strengths will lie in people management and motivation, bringing colleagues together to share information and best practice. You’ll maintain strong professional relationships with your peers and their teams as well as external stakeholders.  We’ll be impressed with your passion for promoting independence and social inclusion, as well as your focus on quality, efficiency and your ability to develop service provision in new and innovative ways.  

We do need you to have an excellent working knowledge of the Housing and Care and Support sectors, safeguarding processes and housing law. You’ll be able to respond quickly and appropriately to emerging risks to individuals, teams or the contract and it’s also important that you have excellent communication skills, IT skills and strong analytical skills too. So join us and lead a team which is doing things differently and spending more time making a real difference to vulnerable people’s lives.

To make sure our customers are well supported, it’s important that you have worked in a housing/supported environment before. Don’t worry, we won’t drop you in the deep end, we’ll help to you understand how things work at Home Group!

It would be amazing if you have worked in this type of environment before, however it is also your “can do” positive attitude and enthusiasm that are critical to make this role a success. We can nurture your talent, just let us know in your cover letter why you have a passion for working here!

As this is a leadership in the community-based role, you need to be able to drive, as well as having access to a car insured for business purposes. Don’t worry, we’ll pay you expenses to cover this use!

When you join, you’ll need to have a valid Enhanced Check under the Disclosure and Barring Service. The great news is that we will pay for that to be done if you don’t have a transferrable one.
